vSync in Skyrim SUCKS SO MUCH.

 

I was getting stuttering issues and disabling vSync and getting an FPS limiter fixed it.

 

40FPS cap @ ~75% usage @ 60*C = awesome.

i'm playing Skyrim at 4538x900 with High textures pack, Settings are on High cause 1GB of video memory is way to little for that kind of res...still,looks awesome! and i can tell you that its WAY better than on console! only thing that is annoying is that some surround gaming bugs appears, like huge menus :D ill post few pictures later :)

Almost all settings are set to Max/Ultra. High Textures DLC is enabled too.

and yea, picture quality is a bit compressed. Looks awesome in person ;)

 

PS. almost forgot, most of the time i see 60fps dead (using a 60fps limiter, EVGA Precision X)

Skyrim is known for using a massive amount of VRAM especially at that res. See if you can go with an injector or one of the EnB configs with DoF. They make the game worlds better to play.

 

I'd recommend:

 

Superb EnB: Superb ENB-RL at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community (awesome, ran it for a few weeks)

 

Sharpshooter's Extreme EnB: Sharpshooters Extreme Graphics Vision ENB - good performance at Skyrim Nexus - Skyrim Mods and community (miles better than superb with better ssao)

LOL, with that mod i can't even start the game :D maybe its because i use Nvidia beta drivers and 3 screens:confused: but i use textures and water mods already. also i noticed that without any mods, only with high res textures, FPS is even higher if i disable the limiter. with vsync off i get around 70fps at 4538x900 with everything set almost to ultra. (AA off, Shadows set to High)

AA is off cause...duh 4538x900 :D and shadows are at High because of High res textures DLC, without it i can run it at ultra :) who said GTX280's are crappy cards :D in vantage it beats GTX480 by 1k maybe a bit more than that.

Well that's no fun that you can't use the EnB. :(

 

If you turn off vSync, you may get crazy physics issues. Very odd but yea.

actually this is the first game that i can play with vsync and don't care about it. game runs very smooth even on that kind of resolution :) (fps limiter is even better, and don't have to use vsync) also can't wait to get non beta driver, cause these ones are very buggy.... maybe then i can use enb :)

 

btw for me skyrim looks good even without enb mods :P tho few days back i installed TDU1 and now barley play skyrim :D ill get back to it when nvidia releases normal drivers :)

Yeah it does run a lot better with a limiter. I had trouble with the in game vsync myself. Felt like my HDD was stuttering.

well skyrim vsync is not that bad :) i always was getting 75fps when was playing on one monitor without any stuttering :) also SLI support is very good
