Wheel for drifting

Hello.

Im looking for my first wheel to go with the xbox360. I play a lot of F1 online and drifting on forza 4. Im not sure a great quality shifter is what I need to spend my money on as ile quite happily shifter up and down using buttons when on forza.

Any recommendations? I will look second hand as I only want to spend £60 really as I am looking at buying an elgato as well.

Maybe a second hand Fanatec Porsche wheel? You'd be better off waiting and saving for a CSR imo. Keep in mind drifting is a lot harder with a wheel in mosts games (and most Xbox games don't have great wheel support in comparison to the PS3/PC version from what I've seen).

Avoid the new cheap wheels (i.e. the brands no-one has heard of or the cheapie Thrustmasters), they're never very good.

Hope this helps

Honestly - you might as well do the invisible Kinect steering wheel - I've started with cheap wheels and they're just frustrating, they're not much fun and you'll be slower than you were with the controller.

Even with my CSR Elite I still struggle to beat the likes of Mellors, gsto2, and Clarence (although I'd be a match for 2 of them if I practiced in Forza more often :p )

On the more specific subject of drifting, you want something well made (quality) with good force feedback for the immersive experience, although truth be told it's probably easier with less FF. The Fanatecs with the LCD screen built in could change FF strength and wheel rotation on the fly.

Can't wait to see your elgato footage

My mate went from the HD PVR2 (Gaming edition) to the elgato because he was using a mac. Im hopefully buying his HD PVR of him :)

I quite like the look of the Thrustmaster 458 wheel. I wont be spending over £100 thats for sure because of the new xbox coming out.
