i hear that db_data.cpr file very important for the editer to work but i dont have it , exept in this root C:\Mods\backup\org_db_data.cpr
not in  same root  as TDU2VPE.exe Exist
C:\Mods\TDU2VPE.exe
also with those letters,org_ before the name (org_db_data.cpr)

VPE edits db_data.cpr file, which exists in euro/bnk/database folder. This is ONLY in unpacked games, if your game is not unpacked you cant do any change. Go find unpacker if not did it. Unpack your game in a new folder (name it Test Drive Unlimited 2 Unpacked) and for a future this will be your game folder. Keep your packed folder just as a backup, don't mess the both. In the unpacked game you can have many more and much better cars than the originals. One brand new world, i don't drive original cars anymore...

After you finish unpacking:

Open a VPE. Choose Ferrari brand. Find your Ferrari and "load" it. Go to "names". In "brand selector" choose Alfa Romeo. Then "apply" command and "quit". That's all. Ingame you will find your car named Alfa. Go to tune shop and do the tune. Exit the shop, save and quit the game. Open VPE again. Choose Alfa Romeo brand. Find your car there and load it. Go to "names". In "brand selector" choose Ferrari and "apply" command, then "quit".

This is the way. On this way i tuned Bentley, Rolls Royse, Lada, Honda etc...

One more - press "APPLY" command EVERYTIME after you change something,

thx bro now i tune all the ferrari cars exept Ferrari FXX Evo it works on all cars except for club cars.

Also  i figure out what the problem was with TDU2VPE.exe

i reinstall tdu2 and  put  TDU2_Universal_Launcher_v3.6 in the game and

play the pack version for five minute, then unpack the game ,now it work perfectly

I have a really weird issue where If I change any car name all the dealerships disappear from the map and cannot be entered even when changing my golf gti to golf R. I'm using ver 3.550 and had to use the restore function to reverse the problem

Sorry, but I can't immediately think of any possible causes.
Did you change something? When did the problem start? Has it been the same since you first started using tdu2vpe?
I don't have a PC environment which I can check or verify it right now, so I don't think I can help you right away.

I've used different versions of the vpe over the years three things that have changed recently was bringing over the game from a windows 7 pc to my windows 10 laptop, installing project paradise 2 and adding the dxvk dll file for the map crash fix. Also to note is im running both the unofficial patch and one of stargt's autopack cant remember which one but basically I have many car mods installed

tdu2vpe has only been tested to work with TDU2 V0.34 build16 + Unofficial patch0.4. Unfortunately, there are no plans to test it on versions other than the above.

I've tried modifying cars on TDU2 using this tool, but no avail. Using Knyazev's unofficial launcher, v0.34, and unpacked version. The program loads up fine, and I'm able to change the settings in the program, but the ingame car settings remain stock. I do not know what I'm doing wrong. I'll send screenshots later today :(.

 

No other mods other than the v0.34 patch. TDUVPE V.3.5.8.

I tried modifying the Jaguar's top speed to 290 on VPE but it still retains the stock speed when I go back into the game.

I think the display of that part of the image is in a file that vpe doesn't handle.
If you run a vehicle in the game, the value you changed in vpe should be reflected. Try setting it to 60km/h Max, for example.

Even after changing the speed to 80 km/h, it's not reflected ingame. The speed of the Jaguar goes to 251 km/h, not 80 km/h. 

With all due respect, I just sent those pictures as reference. I'm excited in trying this tool, but no matter what I do, nothing is working. I'm even using Knazev's launcher, and the unpacked version as detailed above.

Sorry, I can't investigate this right now because I don't have an environment which I can run the game. I'll investigate as soon as possible.
By the way, does this happen for all vehicles?

Wow, that goes fast  . After somewhat 4 hours of further search yesterday I found an older version 3.5.0.5 on a Russian (?) site. Unfortunately everything went fine except the wanted (unlocked from existing e.g. the Ariel Atom 500 V8) cars did not show up in the dealerships although everything was complete, including *.bnk etc. I tried more or less every solution that was given on the web but it didn't solve the problem. I also looked for a trap in the GamePC.cpr which I edited before, to avoid any blocking flag, did not help either. So, thank you very much for this and also the hurried version, of course I'll try that but I've got the feeling that this has nothing to do with the version of the TDU2VPE.exe. I really don't get the point why existing cars with textures and db-info and everything and free dealership slots can't be unlocked. Any idea? Thx again anyway.
