TDU Solar Crown Release Date and Free Demo

Recommended Posts

In case you hadn't heard, Nacon revealed via a new trailer the final actual yes really honest to goodness release date for Solar Crown, and launched pre-orders for Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series. Gold edition owners can begin playing on 4 September 2024, with regular plebs joining in on 12 September 2024, and the rest of you waiting for a sale sometime in December perhaps. In a surprise twist, an open beta test disguised as a free demo has been launched on Steam today, available to play for 2 weeks until 17 June 2024. Visit the Steam store to begin downloading and read the associated notes.

The demo skips the reported ~45-minute introduction and gets you online quickly. You are limited to a set list of vehicles, races, upgrades and dealerships and confined to the northern half of Hong Kong Island. You will have a chance to see if you vibe better with the Sharps or Streets, and play with friends.
Be sure to experiment with different options and driving assists and share your feedback. If you're unable to play, be on the lookout for a mountain of videos and live streams.

Excited for this to finally be released - hopefully it's as good as I'm hoping it will be.

(Hi to any of the old guard from a decade ago who are still lurking).

Oh yeah. Finally a new Test Drive.

It's been more than a decade CMM

Holy kamokas, 17 years.

All good! Hope you're doing well too.

Cannot wait for some cruises with the OG... hope we all still remember how to do it

I've played on PC.  It's.... ok as a random open world driving game. But yeah, unfinished, lacking some basic TDU features such as delivery missions.  There's nothing to do besides race and explore.

I got to level 37 and am still waiting for the first patch before continuing with supercars.

At least the physics are decent, besides landing large jumps. Wheel support is a little iffy atm, hopefully will improve.

The whole ranking/seasonal grind simply doesn't appeal to me, but others may be more into it.

There's potential if they can recover from the reviews without being shut down by their publisher. Again.

This is nothing like TDU, and even worse then TDU 2,  I mean 100MPH with a Citroën 2cv and beating a MB,  drifting around the corners on a map that is not even half the size of the first TDU

its a big disapoint to me, and don't even want it for free

I haven't seen a Mostly Negative game on Steam in... ever. In the style of AVGN: What were they thinking!? TDUSO is already dead. It looks like they really just wanted a quick buck by exploiting the TDU name.

Oh well. I wonder how's Milli's progress towards the next TDU Platinum update? But then again I might be too spoiled by FH4.
