LYON, FRANCE – 26 July 2007 – Atari today announced that the Test Drive Collection Volume 5 downloadable car pack is available now on Xbox Live® Marketplace for Test Drive Unlimited, the ultimate automotive and lifestyle gaming experience for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace for 350 points, the Test Drive Collection Volume 5 features five lovingly rendered supercars and one motorbike; the Chrysler®Crossfire® SRT6 Coupe, Dodge Charger Super Bee, Ferrari 308 GTS Quattrovalvole, Ferrari 512 TR, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R, and the Spyker C8 Spyder. In addition, players can download the remarkable Holden Efijy Concept completely free. Australian-American manufacturer GM Holden Ltd.’s curvaceous future-retro masterpiece recently won the 2007 North American Concept Car of the Year Award at the sixth annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards, and this download gives car fans a unique opportunity to take it for a virtual spin. Once downloaded from Xbox Live Marketplace, all cars can be bought as normal from the relevant in-game dealerships.

“Since launch last year, we’ve been 100% committed to regularly bringing brilliant new content to fans to enrich the Test Drive Unlimited experience and give new and existing fans great reasons to keep the pedal to the metal,” said Mathias Hautefort, Executive Vice President of publishing and production, Atari. “This is the fifth instalment of brand new vehicles for Test Drive Unlimited, and makes this already essential game even more of a must-have for any self-respecting racing fan.”

Regarding PC version, I would think it is the means of distribution that is annoying them, on Xbox 360 it's a fairly secure and trouble free means of getting money for your extra content but PC is a different story as everything is on your local machine and access isn't hard to gain. They may consider releasing an expansion disc or something but I would think that piracy would be their main worry.
