Hey there, well as requested here is the dedicated Photomode sub-forum for the PC section. Note that you are limited to the one thread for yourself or your club though you can have one of each if you have a club also.

f. No large images in posts

If you are wanting to post an inline image – ie; you wish to post an image directly into your post – then please make sure that it is no larger than 800 x 640 in width x height and is no more than 350KB (0.35MB) in filesize. If you want to upload something larger than this then use the forums' own Attachments option which you can reach when posting a reply or a new thread. You can access this via the ”Manage Attachments” option below the posting area. Click the button and a popup window will appear and then just browse to the files you want to upload (3 at a time max) and when you are done press ”Close”. You will now see the attachments listed with your post and all that needs to be done now is to submit your post or new thread and the attachments will be displayed in your post and when clicked will show at fullsize as depicted by the forums' limits. (1920 x 1080 maximum)

NOTE: Attachments can be used as long as they are within the guidelines of the Attachment rules. If the image you are attaching is bigger then the forum will automatically try and resize it anyway but there is a timelimit and size limit it will allow so check the dimensions and filesizes first before attaching

You can also link images to larger images if you wish. You do this by using the [*IMGLINK][*/IMGLINK] (remove the ‘*’ otherwise it won’t work) tags. Normally to include an image into your post you would use the [*IMG][*/IMG] (remove the ‘*’ otherwise it won’t work) tags, however this is for images upto and including 800 x 640, so if you have an image that’s larger you wish to show then use the IMGLINK tags like so:

* Images that do not follow this will either be edited to a text link or will be removed entirely

The below tutorial is still part of Section 1.1 (f)

1) Most image hosting websites create thumbnails or smaller images you can use to then link to the fullsize image itself. To do this get your SMALL image and in your post reply or new thread type [*IMGLINK]http://www.domain.com/SMALLimage.jpg[*/IMGLINK] (remove ‘*’ otherwise it won’t work) where the http://www.domain.com/SMALLimage.jpg is the link to your smaller image you will be using to link to the larger fullsize image.

2) Now get the URL/Address of the LARGE image and type:

i. [*URL=http://www.domain.com/LARGEimage.jpg][*/URL]

ii. Now get your IMGLINK part and put it inbetween the above like so

iii. [*URL=http://www.domain.com/LARGEimage.jpg][*IMGLINK]http://www.domain.com/SMALLimage.jpg[*/IMGLINK][*/URL] (remember remove the ‘*’ or this won’t work)

iv. That’s it! It looks more complicated than it is but basically all you need to do is change the IMG tags to IMGLINK or type it in yourself and job done.

* NO LARGE GIFS; Film and TV clip gifs are huge, sometimes even bigger than making it a movie clip itself, link to these via a textlink or thumbnail. DO NOT INLINE POST THEM

* DO NOT QUOTE IMAGES; Remove the tags or the images entirely. Each quote has a direct link (little arrow next to the member being quoted) to the original post you are quoting anyway so there's no need to do so.

Why 1024*768 isn't accepted ? All my screens are in 1280*960, I rezize them in 1024 for all other forums (i think 1024 isnt a high res). Is it because 1024 is larger than the forum template ?

I think the actual reason is that photos can still be displayed properly but the page doesn't take ages to load every time you open it. So basically its to save time, you can still add larger pics via attachments, so you can display your his-res ones there :)
