Grrr It keeps crashing or like REALLLLY bad lag at the lighthouse places. ughh It was fine yesterday (day i got it)

have you installed the 1.66A patch?

 

TD:U has a lot of bugs. it cant be your computer because my system is worse compared to yours.

When was the last time you done a Defragment on your PC? Disk Clean up? Format?

Isn't there some patch AMD have for Windows? I remember seeing people posting about it helping their systems with this game when it was installed.

Ive got the patch yes. My PC is only 1 years old. (built my self)

Ive recently formatted cause I got rid of Vista cos it sucked. i'll do a disk cleanup. I do have alot of software on my pc.

Still not working. Ive tried all those things just keeps crashing.

It wouldnt be something to do with graphics?

There has been some trouble with the Duel core's, however I don't know what they are or how to fix them - just a heads up that it could be to do with the duel core.

 

Plus, have you tried reducing the performance levels in your GFX Card control centre to see if that helps?

Jack post at the Official forums over at http://forums.eu.atari.com Lots of fixes and helpful people there, make sure to post your specs and the problem you're having.

 

Also when you installed the Patch did you do so on a fresh install or had you already played the game beforehand? Many have said a clean install + patch works best. Sorry to hear you are having these issues though.

Does the game even boot? Or do you double click on TDU icon on desktop and nothing happens?

It loads and then it freezes in some places oin the game

Right, your Cache files may be corrupted.

 

When ever I start up TDU, I delete the Test Drive Unlimited Folder in this location

 

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

 

Do this before you start up TDU, preferably on a clean start of the computer :) (i.e. you havnt played TDU before in that session)

 

Myself and a few other people on this forum do this every time we wish to play on TDU, and we havnt had the freeze bug as of yet.

At what point into the game does it freeze? The Intro? The Menu? In your house? Driving around?

Drving around, doing races ect.

Oh so you can get into the game then, well this happened to me. I was driving around and just froze it done this at different times, sometimes I could go for 1 hour with out freezing and then other times only 3 minutes. Try what Iced Bullet suggested worked for me. And Sounds like your having the same problem.

Interesting to know that this works well for these sort of issues. Jack if you are the same jack that's posted at the eu forums can you post you have a fix and also how so that it can add to the number that this has worked for.

I know, I learnt this trick from the Official Forums :)

 

You just have to remember to delete this folder each time you start up. It's not a big deal if you don't as it's unlikely to corrupt that soon, it's just you never know, so I do it as a precausion :)

I dont believe it. It now freezes during when its connecting to servers. I cant actaully believe this. I delete the TDU folder before i play everytime
