Like most games, they design mods. And most games have a Sanbox mod.

 

A sandbox mod is a mod which allows your to play about with the physics of the game, spawn items you see in the game e.g. objects, characters, weapons, guns, vehicles.

 

Garry's Mod is a mod for Half Life 2, it is one of the most successful mods to date.
