I've changed my mind and want to drive TDU and GRID since i got the 911 Porsche wheel in my mail today.

Now i've been on a lookout for a pc that will run these games on high quality, and i found this one;

  • Cooler Master Mystique 631, Sort
  • Corsair Powersupply 550W Bulk, black,
  • MSI P35 NEO-FI, P35, Socket-775, DDR2,
  • Intel Core™ 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz, Socket
  • Corsair TWIN2X 6400 DDR2, 4096MB CL5,
  • USB2 multikortleser 3.5" sort for
  • Western Digital Caviar GP 500GB SATA2,
  • Sony NEC Optiarc DVD±RW burner AD-5200A,
  • Asus GeForce 9800GTX 512MB GDDR3,
  • Logitech Media Keyboard 600
  • Logitech MX518 Optical Mouse,
  • Creative SB X-Fi XtremeGamer
  • Creative Headset HS600
  • Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
  • Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures

Will this be good enough for TDU and GRID? Anyone familiar with this setup for TDU and GRID?

Thanks for any feedback i might get.

looks like a pretty solid rig there. ;)

your motherboard supports 45nm so you can switch to the current lineup of quad core processors out now like the q9450, etc etc...

do you know if it will be easy to upgrade to QuadCore from that base?
Well as RB says, you are able to buy Quad for it yes. But as I found out, this will only really help you when you're in games and using FRAPS. For mundane tasks such as copying files, Dual Core is best price/performance, as it only goes the speed of the CPU. So a Dual Core 3.5Ghz for the same price as a 2.4Ghz Quad, the Dual will be much better at copying files. At this stage, programs aren't programed to take advantage of all 4 cores, but then you can set programs to use specific cores, like (1)TDU (2)TDU (3)FRAPS (4)FRAPS + iTunes for example.

It's up to you. Weather you want less time encoding things or the ability to have programs running on multiple cores. You wont tell a difference on GRID or TDU between at £150 Dual or a £150 Quad.
