Hello all, my uncle has just recently bought the new Ducati 848 and he just pulled up outside my house and it is stunning!

 

Type: L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, liquid cooled

Displacement: 849 cc

Bore and Stroke: 94 x 61.2 mm

Compression Ratio: 12:1

Power*: 98.5 kw - 134 hp @ 10000rpm

Torque*: 70.8 lb-ft - 96Nm @ 8250rpm

Fuel injection: Marelli electronic fuel injection, elliptical throttle bodies

Exaust: Lightweight 2-1-2 system with catalytic converter and lambda probe. Twin stainless steel mufflers

Emissions: Euro3

Gearbox: 6 speed Ratio: 1st 37/15, 2nd 30/17, 3rd 28/20, 4th 26/22, 5th 24/23, 6th 23/24

Primary Drive: Straight cut gears; Ratio 1.84:1

Final Drive: Chain; Front sprocket 15; Rear sprocket 39

Clutch: Wet multiplate with hydraulic control

Alot of people think that people who cant handle a 1098 get a 848 :S

I think different!

Because the 848 are still subtle monsters!

I know Ducati's have never been built well, but the are the "Ferrari" of the bike world :P

I love these things, they look stunning!

Rip the 999 looks loads!

My uncle actually tried the 1098 version, 180 bhp! :D And he said it was scary to ride, he went up to 90 mph, and when he went to brake the tire slammed the floor, so the front tire was about 5 inches off the floor doing 90 mph. But he said it was such an adrenaline rush!

They are monsterous bikes!

But with the 848 they arent like the other Supersport bikes, were u have to thrash them to get them to move, they have basically the same power delivery as the 1098, only not as brutal, you have to know what your doin to buy a 1098 :P

There a scary bike, but not the fastest, the new Gixxer Thou would eat one :|
