    6 years is more the given lifespan people would like to see, Sony's 10 year cycle is still on course as PS2 had one too. After all 10 year cycle simply means the system is supported for 10 years, so 3 years of PS3 support once PS4 is launched is certainly doable.

    Thing is for me personally I hardly ever play older games on a newer console. If you've bought on launch day then no doubt you will still have your old console anyway if you do get tired of playing the latest next-gen delight. BC is not a big thing for me and I really wonder just how many people actually do use BC systems when they have their new systems. Don't get me wrong I have played older games on new consoles but only when I've felt like a bit of nostalgia or if I want to see if I have rose tinted specs about a certain title.

    The good thing is the PC based architectures of these systems allows developers to create similar titles across all platforms and maybe even use more advanced multi-core techniques that the PC has been longing for but has been held back since the consoles were the systems to create for. The other thing is launch titles are never usually near using the full potential of a system so like all generations as devs get used to the systems even better visuals and games will come in the future.

    Some people forget that consoles are closed systems and make full use of their components and that even sometimes these components are custom fabricated to work in a specific way. A PC has quite a bit of overhead to contend with in the OS and such, that's not to say a high-end PC isn't more powerful of course it is but equivalent spec consoles vs PC are usually going to work in favour of the console due to having a set standard to develop to and also like I said the hardware is full-on ready for mainly one purpose, playing games.

    So I'm sure this one took a few people by surprise. What we thinking about how this one looks to play out? I think I remember hearing something about it being "first-person" so already my curiousity is well and truly piqued! DriveClub announced for PlayStation 4! | turboduck Announcement Demo thanks to IGN.

    Driving in a Club I doubt anyone would be surprised to see a racing game being revealed for a new console but typically you expect it to be of a known series, and with it being the PlayStation 4 announcement meeting many were no doubt waging their bets on seeing a glimpse of a next-gen Gran Turismo or maybe Motorstorm. This did not happen though, in fact evolution studios the people behind the Motorstorm series revealed a brand new IP, DriveClub, which will feature many real-world cars such as BMW, Pagani and Maserati to name a few. With a name like that you just know that many "first rule of DriveClub" jokes have already made their way out but this game is looking to take a somewhat new approach to the racing game genre with a big emphasis on team-based... or I should say club-based gameplay. You and your club can set-up races and events (on your mobiles!) against other clubs that encompass anywhere from a mere small group to 1000's of players all over the world. DriveClub has only just been announced and a small trailer is all we have right now, but we will be keeping our eyes on this one to see if it is one of the first next-gen racing games worth having.     Good question, I think since they have still not fixed the botched website/forum merge that purchasing tokens or doing anything atari account wise is broken and thus inaccessible. You could try emailing their support to see if there is another way but it's doubtful they will reply back anything meaningful.

    That would be great. Dub in some TROLOLOL music and it would be superb. The evolution of PlayStation videos and such does very much hint at it though. I wonder if they went with more memory as that is one thing devs always like. It worked out big style for Microsoft and the 360.
