  1. There must be a language barrier issue or something going on here as it should be completely clear what happened and why there was confusion through all this. I was going to break it down but there's really no point. All I will say is, if you cannot make out what happened after post #6 then just please stop.
  2. THIS IS WHY! Many times I referenced what Koenigsegg said and you kept posting quotes that I couldn't find said by them. The info you have shared above is what I found out after seeing what TDUFREAK500 said and hence I made the change to the article. But the way you were talking it sounded like this wasn't even needed as Koenigsegg had already admitted it somewhere.
  3. And where does it say that? I don't know how to make this any clearer. What you have said above is not in that excerpt by Koenigsegg unless I cannot see it for seeing it!! :headbang:
  4. This is why I want to bring on an editor or two. I like to write but man am I terrible at it.
  5. Why I say it's not clear is because all it says is "testing" and "tested" in places and nowhere is there a simple 'the car which is factory owned' type mention. Unless I am missing something with the Industry Pool in some way determining only factory cars being allowed? Help me out here. Where is it obvious in that admittance that the car is owned by them? It's not that I don't believe you, I'm just wanting to see what I missed in the text.
  6. @CLR: That's not entirely clear either but after further searching I found that this car is Koeni's own and was apparently bought from the private owner last year. Customer cars have been fitted out for testing purposes before though, in fact in recent terms wasn't there a private test mule used for one of the Bugatti Veyron iterations?
  7. Is this for certain? I did look around but the info wasn't exactly concrete about the ownership of this car.
  8. Koenigsegg Crash They say you cannot make an omelette without breaking some eggs. Well it turns out you cannot break the Nurburgring lap record without breaking some Koenigseggs! (ba dum tss) Puns aside, this one One:1 that had been running laps in preparation for an attempt to take away the production lap record from the Porsche 918 Spyder has had a massive crash, after it appears to have lost control or something has gone badly wrong, resulting in a long stretch of rubber burned into the tarmac at the Adenauer Forst area of the track, continuing onto the grass and crashing through the armco barriers. Strangely the tyre tracks seem to indicate that the car locked-up despite having ABS. Thankfully even with the damage that can be seen and the car briefly catching fire, the occupants, from initial reports, escaped relatively unharmed from the afternoon incident. Koenigsegg Automotive AB can confirm reports online that a Koenigsegg One:1 was involved in a crash during testing as part of Industry Pool at the Nurburgring on Monday, 18 July. The driver was taken to hospital as per standard procedures in such situations and was released the same afternoon. Koenigsegg has participated in Industry Pool testing for a week in each of the last two months, working primarily on vehicle setups both for ongoing vehicle development and for an attempt at a Nurburgring lap record at some time in the future. Being that there is only seven One:1's in existence and that this car (#107) appears to be a customer car according to GT Spirit, it is fair to say that Koenigsegg will want to get this full carbon fiber bodied car back to their HQ and set about returning it to mint condition. (wonder who pays for that?) UPDATE: #107 was bought back from the original German private owner by Koenigsegg back in 2015. There doesn't appear to be any footage of the event itself, however YouTube channel EMS Nordschleife TV has a video showing the aftermath and of the car being recovered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZWEBAHREa8 Packing an absurd 1340bhp, a 0-60 mph time of 2.8 seconds and a theoretical top speed of 280 mph, the One:1 is indeed a monster. For more images from the scene check out the report by GT Spirit.
  9. Woah now, come on. This is why democracy does not work! j/k :cheeky: It's all relative to what you know I guess, those of who enjoy cars and no more than just 'that's a Ferrari... I think' will have a top 10 that is more expected and is full of the ultimates in this areas. However it will not be fully agreed upon that it is in fact the top 10. There will always be those who would have X instead of Y and something higher or lower up the list. For me when I think of the top 10 though (in no real order): * Mercedes 300 SL Coupe * Lamborghini Miura * Ford GT * Ferrari F40 * Lamborghini Countach * Pagani Zonda (F) * McLaren F1 * Porsche 911 * Koenigsegg Agera * Bugatti Veyron
  10. Multiple-uploads is on the agenda CLR. Again it is something I want to do because it makes sense but it's the how that I need to investigate. As for the description, it is to make it easier for your item to be found if someone does a search for a specific topic. If you title an item and it's funny but you don't have funny in the title then if someone searches for 'funny' (a common search) your image won't show. But adding a simple: 'a funny incident that happened during an...' then your item will be included. :) The fact of the matter is, the gallery is basic and anything you do to help your stuff be found when it drops off the first page or so of the main or category it's put in, the better. Case in point: Search for 'BMW' and you get your old green one in the results but Camel's DRIVECLUB shots and cal's recent postings don't show.
  11. UPDATE:// 15/7/16 – The blue team are now notified of media awaiting approval so this should help in the amount of waiting required. :)
  12. Great pics as always Loz, that truck was a total surprise but now I want it (and more) in all games!
  13. UPDATE:// 15/7/16 – Implemented a display of the latest 5 media items posted to the gallery on the main forum home for members in order to help boost the viewability of stuff that's posted. Don't forget, I'm an idiot, but I can tend to stitch things together at times for the greater :duck: good. :p
  14. Summit New for The Crew The Crew is already old, in fact it's near geriatric if we are to go by the typical post release support window of other titles. But Ubisoft and Ivory Tower don't care about age, as they are still feeding it with lots of updates and providing their players with new toys. For starters there will be a new car: the latest Mazda MX-5 will be coming to the game as a Summit reward for July and August and the fun little roadster will be available in Street and Performance specifications too. Some motorcycles are next and these are mentioned with only a 'Future' date of release. The Kawasaki Z1000 ABS and Ducati Paginale R will make their appearance sometime whenever (¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ) and will be available in Performance and Circuit specifications. From looking these up, the Ducati in particular is a stunning looking machine and will hopefully have a sound to match. That seems to be the lot for new toys but that doesn't mean the new stops as the updates will bring their own newness: New Specs Here are some upcoming new specs inbound over the next few months: KTM SuperDuke 1290 - Circuit: August Ruf RT 35 - Raid: Future release Ducati Monster S - Dirt: Future release Ducati Monster S - Circuit: Future release New community Challenges Community Challenge - Fake Out Community Challenge - Chin Music These slightly modified story missions, cut scenes removed to avoid spoilers, will be available with a specific vehicle as part of upcoming community challenges. And as with everything game related today the fixes and improvements make their obligatory entrance: Bug fixes and improvements Fixed a bug that was occurring when installing the game on Windows 8.1 64 Fixed a bug that was occurring when driving with Monster cars in tunnels Several bug fixes and improvements related to Summit events Fixed a bug that was displaying a 3 minute timer at the end of a Freedrive challenge These bug fixes will be applied in our upcoming patch on Tuesday, July 20th (2016 we hope!). 15. Ferrari 488 GT3 It's been a few days since there's been anything heard from the Assetto Corsa team, but now, one day before the pack release itself, the fifth car model of the nearly here 'Red Pack' has been revealed, and it is another Ferrari. Meaning a minimum of three prancing horses will be in amongst the seven Italian examples that will be included with the new DLC. With the addition of the 488 GT3, the already impressive variety of GT cars will be boosted even more and it is something Kunos themselves seem quite proud of. "Our GT2/GT3 grid will be one of the most complete in the genre and a step forward in providing the best GT experience ever!" The car which was brought in to replace the 458 - that is also represented in the game - has divided opinion just like it's predecessor. Some like it, others think the front looks 'unfinished' but there is always one thing you can be certain of with mid-engine road cars from Ferrari, and that is that they handle supremely well. And when they then take that road going model and turn it into a track runner, things in that area get even better. So that's two cars left to reveal of this pack and it is looking like we will learn what they are from the pack itself. Those five that have been given official exposure are the Ferrari 488 GT3, the historic Maserati 250F 6C, the F1 duo of the 2013 Ferrari F138 and the 2015 Ferrari SF15-T and last but not in anyway least, the Lamborghini Aventador SV. The 'Red Pack' is out tomorrow (July 14th) on Steam and available for the consoles later in the year. 16. The way this thing has taken over in such a short amount of time is truly unbelievable. It is getting people outside but I don't know if a big crowd of people with their premium smartphones all being gathered together is such a great idea. Outwith the safety notion though, this thing is absolutely brilliant in its simplicity and the way it has literally captured the world is amazing!
  17. F1 Ferrari V8 The boys and girls behind Assetto Corsa must be in amazing moods as their latest preview of what's next in line for the 'Red Pack' is something real special yet again. As if it wasn't enough to thrill us by announcing that the Ferrari SF15-T 2015 season car was coming to the 'Red Pack'. Now they have gone and unveiled another Scuderia Ferrari that will be making its way in to the DLC that releases on July 14th. And this time it's a V8 from 2013! The last of the Ferrari V8s in fact, before they went to the (strimmer/weed whacker sounding) turbos, driven by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa. The trailer to accompany the announcement, simply titled Introducing the Ferrari F138, shows the car doing a flying lap round the Silverstone GP circuit. And even though we knew this one was coming after some clips of it were included in the console announcement trailer from the start of this year, it is still impressive that the team has decided to pack so much ultimate into this one pack. After all, having two authentic F1 Ferrari cars in a simulation racer is like the holy grail for many racing enthusiasts, and from how Kunos is going about in assembling the machinery to be included in this pack, we really cannot wait to see what else is still to come. The Red Pack is shaping up nicely with the confirmed inclusion of the Maserati 250F 6C, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Ferrari SF15-T and now this second F1 Ferrari. Meaning there is three models remaining out of the seven we have been told are due.
  18. @Mells: Aww, you'll have your memories. :p @Jackal: Nice choice of a first car that, been a fan of that gen of 3-series bimmer for a good while. Not sure what colour it is though. :hmmm:
  19. Superb, though I do wonder what a rollover would be like? :aah:
  20. As I said in my posting on the site, his shouty and loud person works for early morning tv and radio but for the type of programme that Top Gear is, it just doesn't work and irritates the ears. As little as I sometimes catch The One Show, when he is on I have to turn it off as his voice is just that painful for that type of show.
  21. Fangiotastic! The information just keeps on flooding out in regards to the Assetto Corsa 'Red Pack' that is heading for release next week. Latest to get the spotlight is the Maserati 250F 6C that Kunos Simulazioni gave us a glimpse of in the very first tease for the new DLC. This time the classic Formula One racer gets a full image showcase all to itself, looking excellent as it is let loose on the track, spitting out unburnt fuel as it does so. With great names attached, such as Juan Manuel Fangio and Sir Stirling Moss, the car enjoyed success right from the off, taking the win in its first Grand Prix with Fangio behind the wheel at his home race in Argentina. And with Moss calling it the "the nicest Formula 1 front-engined car to drive" of its era, you know it just had to be something special to receive such high praise from such a legend of the sport. The cars of that time also liked to be on 3-wheels through the turns and with the simulation prowess of AC this will hopefully be seen when players get their hands on the pack. Assetto Corsa: Maserati 250F 6C Images [gallery link=file" columns="4" ids="5040,5041,5042,5043,5044,5045,5046,5047,5048,5049,5050,5051,5052,5053,5054,5055,5056] The Assetto Corsa 'Red Pack' will be available for purchase from Steam on July 14th for PC and will be coming to the console versions later on in the year.
  22. Mad Manx IoM TT Record The full video of the quite literally insane Isle of Man TT run performed by Mark Higgins in a tuned Subaru Impreza WRX STI with 600bhp has been put up on the official Subaru YouTube channel, for all of us to stare in utter disbelief at. Being a local lad and thus a real stalwart of the course with previous runs under his belt, Higgins was yet again in the ready to push further than what many could perceive possible round the island course. Made up of narrow streets and winding country roads, these are normal driving roads remember, not smooth tarmac that you can just glide over. But then rally drivers are a different breed after all and appear to have little to no fear. As Higgins tells us with his voiceover of the footage, the conditions may look very good but really they were "probably a bit too warm for optimum performance in the engine". Could have fooled us pal! Before the actual lap run itself starts, we see Higgins dart the car from side-to-side in order to get some heat into the tyres, and then after about 2 minutes, it's into the actual starting of the lap that resulted in the 17:35.139 record on the 37 mile course at an average speed of over 128 mph. Crossing the line at 150 mph it's astonishing watching the next few seconds where he is flying down the infamous Bray Hill at more than 170 mph as driveways, kerbs and hard walls pass by in streaks of blur, with many spectators easily seen parking themselves along the grassy banks close to the action. It's a video that for sure puts you on edge for many reasons. The HUD provided on-top provides the usual information such as speed, revs, gear, time, course progression and the obligatory g meter, but also perhaps in a way to show how unbelievable all of this is, we get to see Higgins' heart rate, respiration and even skin temperature. And the figures shown make that saying 'made of the right stuff' mean so much more when you can see it in this way. Be sure to watch for the little red highlight that shows on the main display next to the gear number underneath the current speed and lights up under the accelerate and braking force meters (to the left of the speed) as this is giving notice that DRS is currently enabled -- meaning that downforce is reduced and yet look at some of the areas where he has it activated. Mad Manx indeed.
