Rebuilda got a reaction from andrey zyb in Test Drive Unlimited: Project Paradise [v0.03A PUBLIC BETA AVAILABLE!]
First off thanks to Speeder and the TDU revamp team for being totally awesome.
I was online the night the servers got killed and despite many attempts to replace my TDU addiction, I failed.
I've been missing this and now you have given it back to me so thanks again.

To all my old cruising buddies, Duke, Pogo, Col - time to polish the caterhams lads...;)

Now my only gripe is the G27 fix is missing from the host at the end of the link on the first page, I will admit to skipping the last 40 pages of this thread as I got fed up with reading comments from other people who failed to read the first post properly.I have spent the last few nights reading the first 140 pages though...

Has the G27 fix been removed or am I just missing a trick here.

    Thanks Milli.
Don't get me wrong, I love driving the four speed leaning machine. I was just being a bit over geeky with my 'tuned Fords' thing.
That being said... the stage 3 transit is mental 😮 quite a challenge to drive, very difficult to keep it in a straight line in first and second. That also seems to suffer with excessive body roll and understeer, are the two linked in some way.
Sadly we don't see many 3.2L transits in the UK, mines a 2.4 and struggles to hit 110kph due to poor gearing and wind resistance.

Well I blinked and missed this bit...
I've played and streamed TDU via project paradise a couple of times using my old profile in the last few months. Not really had much time for games recently until I saw the YT video... Sat there with my chin on my desk for a while and tonight finally did the download.
So impressed, utterly gobsmacked, Milli and the whole team involved with keeping this alive.
Thought i'd log in and say this before I start to play with the game files. That may have to wait as it's nearly 1am here in the UK.
Once again you have my thanks, who would have thought this was possible after Atari killed the servers all those years ago.
To Ryzza, Pogo, Duke and all the sunday night cruisers, I'm hopeful to see you all once again on Oahu. Time to go and recreate some of those hardcore stunts we all used to love.

EDIT... I just looked at my user profile... 9 years since I signed up for TDUC 🙄 OMG
TDU first played in 2007, Ace project done and reading through the install notes it appears I have to sell all 165 cars  😞  Is this still required or is there a work around which will allow me to keep all my current assets?

  4. Thanks

If you're referring to Custom Dealer 1 & 2, those dealers are basically 10 extra spaces so you can easily add your own cars into Platinum.

    I beg to differ.

As you can see in this video, it understeers quite easily if you really push it.

I installed Platinum last night using the following method.
Sell duplicate cars, make second backup while saved driving Alfa GT. Installed Platinum, loaded OK, all good.
Retained bank balance, retained houses and all the cars left in game not modified. Gained a few new cars that must have replaced the old ones, lost a few modded cars but I can live with that.
Went straight out and bought a Transit Van 🙂 love it. Hate driving with a pad so the G27 is coming out and i'm off for a hoon.
Once again my thanks to Milli and the team who have kept this alive, love you guys.
Why did I make my first purchase a transit? Because this is my daily transport.

EDIT - I bought the RS1600 mk1 Escort. In standard trim the 4 gears and suspension roll are fine. At 3rd stage tuning on one of these it would have 5 gears using a type 9 ford gearbox and would also have much stiffer suspension, better anti roll bars so body roll would be greatly reduced. Understeer would also be minimised, at the moment it's a bit too light at the front. - I'm only nit picking because I've driven one and know how they handle quite well. I do still love the fact there is an original RS in this game. ❤️

  7. Thanks

To make it have a stiffer suspension and 5-speed gearbox, i would need to create another entry in the database.  But that is not really how TDU tuning works, they work with % upgrades of the "base" car, unless you change the base car, by making it use another database entry.
That means even though they look the same, there will be 2 entries in the database for it. So if you edit the stock one, you will need to edit the other one aswell.

It is not "Necessary", it is recommended though.  What i suggest is that you take the Alfa GT out, and save the game. Then you install the mod. That way when you load up the profile, it won't risk to crash as soon as it loads up.

Now, the risk of that some cars that you had previously don't work correctly, is there. So, do it at your own risk.

Edit: Also, if you really don't want to lose your vehicles, make a backup of the profiles, so you can pop them back in case you want to play original TDU again. Like, 2 different TDU installations in different folders...

Mk1 and Mk2 escort mainly but over the years Dutton used triumph donors at first, then fords.
The little green one is a Legerra ZS and there were about 180 kits built between '88 and '90. 2037cc pinto, 5 speed box and RWD. 685kg dry weight.
The Sierra is a 1993cc pinto, 5 speed box and also RWD, rescued from a breakers as a chassis/body and recommissionsed for less than £500 inc purchase price. Tax exempt due to the age of the original donor vehicle its just cheap motoring.
Check the Dutton Owners Club gallery pages for the rest of the 'flock'. he made quite a few different ones over the years.
Hmmm... Two, who said I only had two ?
I have two Legerra's, the Sierra and a Phaeton series 4, the other two are off road.

    Hi Dan. :hiya:
It was Duke that prompted me with a text message, its good to know most of the gang is still around and I'm sure if they ever make a server that works we'd all be back on it PDQ.

I am somewhat amazed to find this thread is still live and so decided to post a couple of my two toys. The green one is back aways on another page in history but the blue tonka toy is the winter car.
BTW, hello all in TDU 1 land that remember me, I certainly seen some names on here that bring back memories of good cruises...
