  1. "That's a very nice list of reasons for not playing you've given us, loyal, long term, DLC buying fans, but i'm afraid you're all wrong, what you really want from us to make this game great is more crap you'll have to pay for" The FAQ made me rage considerably
  2. LimitlessCentral ...I was just thinking that perhaps we could concentrate more on open driving games, so we're still true to the original idea of TDU, and what the community was founded on, but without clinging on exclusively to TDU, Games like Midnight Club and Driver: San Francisco spring to mind (and if it wasn't a massive turd then NFS: World too) Just rather than being another generic gaming forum, with no real direction, we can hold onto the founding influence, just expand on it a little given that I can't imagine TDU being much to hold onto as it stands
  3. I'm building a new car, it is the perfect mix of a HGV and a Motorbike. It weighs 5 tonnes and is powered by a 40BHP 600cc bike engine. It is neigh on unusable and has a top speed of 4mph, but i think it works out really well. I am currently focussing my efforts on introducing alloys as an optional extra
  4. And ofcourse, Atari would never release a product half finished...
  5. New-Name-Coming-Soon-Central :P
  6. They say you can't polish a turd, atari can barely even release one
  7. Nah, people still use Vista, how about Test Drive ME? :P
  8. PC - Shifter Detection This is a real pain in the bum and step back from TDU1, TDU1 used to tell if the car you were using had flappy paddles or a gated shifter, and whilst sometimes it felt intrusive it was nice to get in a car with 7 gears and be able to use them all because the game sets your G25's shifting to the paddles automatically. Offroad dynamics Offroad needs to be far more slippery, you have to be going well over 100mph in a subaru to get it slidey on a hairpin... and by that token, the speed restrictor in asphalt cars needs to go too. Asphalt cars need to handle like turd offroad, so that you are restricted by your own hastiness to use your right foot (and reluctance to make a fool of yourself) rather than some supreme power which holds your hand (well, foot technically) every time you go over 50 on the rough stuff.
  9. I'm saying never on account of the fact I have reasonably high hopes for TDU3 etc. TDU1's handling was ok, and was based on the development of an old engine they had experience with (The V-Rally engine if i'm not mistaken) and they got something which was fun and well tested out when they introduced hardcore mode TDU2's handling was damn poor, but it was from an entirely new engine. I'm guessing a lot of resource went into the creation of the engine, leaving little time for polish the actual game (Poor hadling, lacks some of TDU1's innovations, terrible radio, terrible voice acting, terrble story... you get the point) wheras with the all new foundation built (The new engine) there should be time to refine the game for the next installation
  10. Battlefield 3, Guildwars 2 and Skyrim are my big wants this year, oh, and Forza 4 (resisting the urge to say 4za)
  11. charger will handle like a ferrari, lancia will handle like a scooby. just sayin'
  12. They were going to do it one point apparently, but couldn't get all the racers together for it... something to do with the wilder brothers squabbling with stuart apparently.
  13. My sister's xbox can't even read kinect disks...
  14. Oh yeah, i'm not saying either is better, but it seems that the game has optimised the G series better, teh fanatec's support from the game is a bit... yeah
  15. his points were fair but a 5/10 did seem a bit harsh. also, I think some of the problem may have been the fanatec, when the guy did the previews, he said the G25 was much better for the game, as the fanatec felt strange. I wonder if eden is working on improving teh handling, as almost everyone has said it's the game's biggest bugbear
  16. Moved to PC section. This game is great, a real timesink if ever there was one. This isn't my greatest achievement, but a lot of people seem to like it:
  17. Who

    My SRT-8

Is that the one with the slushbox? :( I'm sure they had one with a 6 speed manny so there's a chance you got lucky :p
  18. Probably my dodge charger, but I don't know the milage off teh top of my head
  19. I agree with a lot of the points, in fact I think they did miss a trick in offline races, as they could easily have themed the dirt races in a rally style, for example by making championships stage-based, with the end of one event being the start of the next, taking diversions for races/eliminators as and when. essentially making championships progress logically. I'm all for the individual races, using solar crown as championships to enter once you're a bit more notorious. Essentially, I think that what is wrong with the game is that no-one actually played it. For example I can't think anyone would program the stickers shop, test it and go 'yeah, this is fine, this doesn't need to be less twitchy, have less restrictive dimensions and have more controls than 'undo'. Or played the 'story' without thinking 'well, this is naff' or 'wow, maybe we should record more dialogue' or 'does every single class really need exactly the same license tests?'
