  2. I feel like I've heard of this being an issue with other mods years ago. The gold edition may have add extra languages supported which changes things up in the database files.
  3. Yeah I know. TDU SC isn't exactly coming out this year either though.
  4. After seeing all of the mods I don't know if I could play TDU on any other platform than PC. The second hand graphics card market will soon be flooded with cheap 1080Tis and 2080's, 2080Ti's from people upgrading to cheaper-than-usual 3080s (once stock levels are sufficient).
  5. Cool name choice @ItsJustAnotherExcuse. Now we just need MyDaddyWasADJ to join.
  6. Took you long enough! (cheeky). Welcome back, Tim. Confirms a 5 year development plan, and may give clues as to a potential release window next year, assuming no delays. 5 years is also plenty long enough to expect a brand new location to cruise about. https://www.cnc.fr/jeu-video/actualites/kylotonn-linnovation-au-service-des-jeux-de-sports-mecaniques_1292670
  7. So the weekend has passed, what was the new game? Anything TDU related?
  8. Well I never... look! Who's back! Welcome back.
  9. Congrats on the upgrade. I'm curious, what made you go Intel?
  10. The game will still be playable but will be de-listed from the Microsoft Store. Physical copies of the game may be available but do not include much in the way of DLC.
  11. There aren't any public islands off Australia that are full with rich people and supercars. TDU likes to go after that lifestyle as well as just the island.
  12. Looks interesting, but some reviews that I've heard aren't a fan of the audio-buzz in the wheel generated from engine revs.
  13. It's AU $56 for me - the point is that it might be available in Europe for @VX97
  14. Hi all. I'm from Melbourne AU, and regularly played TDU1 on PC when it first released up until the servers closed. I completed TDU2 and took part in a few online cruises but didn't enjoy the physics/handling unfortunately. The dirt-road handling was more tolerable. I managed to win the TDU2 Superfan contest many years ago with this amateurish trailer. I stopped playing TDU2 when I was accepted into the WMD program that helped fund and develop Project CARS. These days I've packed away my Fanatec CSR Elite wheel + pedals and I play The Crew 2 and Rocket League on PC using a Xbox One gamepad in my spare time. I'm looking forward to learning more about TDU SC.
  15. CDKeys.com also has TDU2 listed, but not very cheap. https://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/test-drive-unlimited-2-pc-cd-key-steam I wonder if proceeds of sale for TDU2 goes to KT Racing? It would be funny if someone heard about TDU World and increased their prices.
  16. Some more interesting news today - MS have removed the "Annual Subscription' option for Live Gold. You can only get 1 or 3 month subscriptions now. Users can instead get 1 year of Xbox Game Pass which includes Live Gold (for a slightly higher fee). Retail outlets likely still have 12 month Live Gold subscription codes as well for a limited time (in case you were desperate for one).
  17. Geoff Keighley goes hands--on with the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller. It looks a little larger, feels a little heavier, hsa a louder speaker on board, and there are few other nifty features on board. Whether or not they are used in cross-platform titles remains to be seen. 00:00 - First Hands on With DualSense! 04:58 - Astro's Playroom Demo 08:19 - Eric Lempel Interview 18:00 - When will Pre-Orders Start? Do these features add up to your console-buying decision making process, or are they just novelties to be dismissed?
  18. It may be an option alongside the expected traditional outright purchase. We'll have to wait and see to be certain. The question is, at what monthly price would it become an impulse purchase. i.e. if it was $30 per month for the best console + Live Gold + Game Pass (100+ games), would you go for it? If you didn't have a 4K TV or care about high frame rates, would you go for the new S series if it's bundle was only $15 per month? If you had the Game Pass subscription, you might not care so much if the S series was Digital only, compared to the PS5 Digital edition where you would still have to buy most of your games (as far as we know). Another plus is the confirmation that controllers and hardware for Xbox One will continue to work on the new consoles, and old games will keep working and perform better, saving more $$$. For me personally, I'm more excited to get a new GPU later this year which is rumored to be a big jump in performance. I don't have a need for either console at this point in time. I haven't played GT Sport at all and Forza is available on PC (thanks MS).

  20. Xbox head Phil Spencer has written an interesting article confirming a few points regarding the future of gaming within the Xbox family. Once again, he sounds confident that their success will not be measured in the number of consoles sold, since he promotes the playing of new titles on old hardware for those who can't upgrade or choose not to. Could it be that Microsoft will offer their new consoles on a 24-month payment plan alongside Xbox Game Pass for a low enough monthly fee, that traditional PlayStation owners are tempted enough to switch? Or get both consoles instead of just the PS5? Will parents who typically buy a console as a gift for children be attracted to this new model where they don't have to spend $70+ per game since the monthly price includes access to a new console plus 100+ games plus multiplayer (Live Gold) access bundled in one reasonable fee? Have a read through the following article and let us know your thoughts. Don't forget to come back for the next Xbox game stream scheduled for next Thursday (July 23).
  21. Great to have you back here, Des  🙂

    1. Maybe they also need an International Airport on the island??? Especially if the game has two islands.
    2. California is well represented in The Crew 1 + 2, plus you mentioned that Los Angeles is in GTA V and Midnight Club LA. I think the checklist for the TDU series tends to be: * An Island that can be recreated in 1:1 scale or close enough. Being an island means the world has no arbitrary borders and so is by nature "Unlimited" * Coastal roads (obviously, it's an island) * Twisty mountain roads with elevation changes * Long highways for top speed * Tunnels for sound appreciation * Cities and built-up residential areas for extra immersion compared to NFS-style open worlds * A rich/elite environment where supercars might not be too unexpected in real life I don't see mainland Europe, America, Brasil (or any mainland) being used by TDU given that it traditionally has been based on elite islands. Either way I can wait to find out more and explore a new location that I've hopefully never seen before. I don't mind if they include O'ahu as a secondary or even DLC location but I wouldn't expect it to take primary focus.
    3. (edit, The Jackal's first post/rant above mine appears to have been removed, so my reply makes less sense now) Welcome to the forums, Jackal. I'm also Aussie - I think it's fair to say we don't have to worry about them picking Oz since TDU usually goes for islands (but not gigantic continent-sized ones) at ~ 1:1 scale. USA is overdone imo (NFS are well overdue to feature somewhere different) but I don't think Europe is overdone. I guess most players just want to go somewhere they can't visit IRL (which right now is just about everywhere beyond the local shops for us in Melbourne, haha). I'm pretty sure the majority of locations that could be selected have speed limits and slow drivers. But I haven't visited too much of WA besides Kalgoorlie and Karatha. Try using paragraphs next time - they're much easier to read than that wall of text
