  1. I'll wait for ISR to review it first (should only take them 2 months)
  2. They're not programming for 8 year old consoles though ;) (remember the CPU is the bigger limiting factor)
  3. Started and pretty much finished a new project today. Will keep a secret so that we get to witness the initial reactions of MadDog and/or Reaper when they sign in next (make sure you're recording, and if you spawn at night time don't go straight to bed like you usually do) :)
  4. Flickr is also a pain when I go to collate the images for voting - would be great if no-one used it :p
  5. Ah yes, it was unavailable for me before as well, but ok now. I'd suggest finding a new image host Tim.
  6. Week 25 Theme: Black and White Chosen by: Clarence Winner: robillard3381 http://i995.photobucket.com/albums/af76/robillard3381/z8_zps46cf67c2.jpg
  7. Where? It'd be easier to find Waldo/Wally than find the colour. :oook:
  8. The Elgato records everything that comes in via the HDMI port, obviously it's compressed to some degree given the much better file size but when I timeshift back immediately after doing something I don't notice any quality drop. Also you can choose the the resolution and video bit rate. I think the max is 30mbps 1080p. I've got my quality set to about half way. I still have about 3TB of old FRAPS footage referenced in abandoned SVP projects.
  9. Yes I've ditched FRAPS and Afterburner (besides quick screenshots) for the Elgato, which is what I was using to record GT5 and Forza on the consoles. Now I've connected it to my gaming PC HDMI port which loops back into the same PC via USB for recording, meaning much better FPS and great quality (if I don't convert them to reduce upload times). Definitely check them out. Easy to find on eBay.
  10. You do realise I've already posted these videos in the first post :) @PD: Expect lots of gamers to not be impressed. I won't be preordering an expensive collectors edition of this game, at best I'll be waiting for it to be available somewhere cheap (eBay). Seems like a bit of a reverse ProLogue game.
  11. Recorded @ 720p with the Elgato, should've done it in 1080p (had it set to 720p for Minecraft recording)
  12. To be sure I don't expect GT6 to sound so good that Diablo writes an article about it, but there has to be a noticeable improvement (along with the progress they've showcased in other areas). GT6 is very much about recouping profits from the massive budget and delays with GT5 if some reports are to be believed.
  13. Worth pointing out that this year a lot of the competition is putting a much larger emphasis on sounds (RaceRoom, iRacing, Project CARS, etc). If GT6 wants to keep it's simulator status then it's going to have to catch up when it comes to simulating sounds. The problem is that good sounds use up quite a bit of the CPU (as do AI calculations, and dynamic physics/tyre model calculations, damage/collision calculations, etc); not sure how much is left in the PS3 to improve here. To ignore one of the biggest criticisms of GT5 would be quite disastrous for PD, not just for the game GT6, but it'll take away some of the series heritage as a premium product and possibly become 'just another racing game'. Not something Sony wants for a console-seller. That said, what we've seen of GT6 is probably WIP just like all the pCARS videos on YouTube with rubbish placeholder sounds, so let's reserve judgement for the final product. (The only difference being PD get to choose what to showcase in their demos whereas in pCARS everything is made available as soon as it's driveable)
  14. You should've seen it when it was made of dirt (super ugly) I did have it invisible, but that caused... other problems ;) With the texture pack glass is pretty much invisible anyway You still use the quarry? I thought they'd all hit the bottom? I figured by now you'd have progressed to collecting red matter which you could use to clone into any ingot you wanted.

Still a good price for a classic!
  16. Good thing I left the cube on (btw if anyone ever sees a giant cube around my house, resist the urge to touch it, or you'll be dead) :) khev's going to be shattered (shattered... geddit?) :cheeky:
  17. Hi Beav Game is still in development. We all joined by paying a one time fee (similar to kickstarter, different price points give you different access and perks), to help the devs reach the required amount. That amount was reached in November 2012 (the project originally opened in October 2011) which means there is no more need for extra money, and no-one else can join. However Slightly Mad Studios intend to build pCARS for PS4 and Xbone which will require more funding (they are already registered PS4 developers and have the dev kit and APIs). Once Ian works out all the legal and fiscal details community funding will open again, where people can invest in the game for those 2 consoles. While they won't receive any profits for the original 4 platforms (and vice versa) they will still get forum access and access to PC dev builds. When this happens I'll probably post something about it on the homepage. The final game is expected on the original 4 platforms (PC, Wii U, X360, PS3) early 2014 for around $60 (not finalised). We can afford to be cheaper since there isn't any EA or Atari style publishers who will take the majority of the profits (we the community do that, while SMS get 30% plus returns on their additional investment instead of a traditional flat fee paid by the publisher). Check out the pCARS thread in the Green Room - Ben Collins (sacked Stig) posted some great feedback on the Formula 1 handling there.

Well at least (it sounds like) you know what you're doing. How much has the car cost in total now with all the parts and repairs? (you don't have to answer of course)
  19. :nods: Until you die and lose it, happened to me the other day, hated having to walk
  20. Not going to stop the little kiddies asking their parents for one, is it? Sony have a good chance here if they're clever. No need to get into a war of ads with MS along the lines of "we're better than you", just target the influencers out there, get them on board and their friends will probably follow, given how big multiplayer is.
  21. Haha I'm such a muppet - I showed Harley the volcano I destroyed, and then he took me a little to the east where my volcano actually was, and remains perfectly in tact. :fp:
  22. So apparently game retailers have now been briefed by MS concerning used games. They will be hooked up to a MS database (think along the lines of activating Windows or Office), and before they can sell a used game, they enter it into the MS database so that the previous owner can no longer play it. What we still don't know is if there's an extra charge associated with this that goes to MS and the game publisher. In which case you're not going to get as much for your trade-in (so why bother) and/or the used game will cost more (again, so why bother when you could buy new on eBay for about as much). For a great game I'd preorder new, and for other games I'll get cheap on eBay or wait for a Steam sale. Pretty rare that I buy a used game, and if I do, it's only because I've wandered into a shop and noticed something that might be half decent but wouldn't phase me if I played it or not (i.e. last used game purchase was Skate 3)
