  1. I really don't get how a game like DiRT 4 and DiRT Rally require so much disk space. I don't recall them having that much content (only a handful of locations iirc), or insane texture quality. I'm sure they could up the compression if they really wanted to.
  2. Beav pls, no-one likes pCARS here  When I first switched to a Logitech G25 I was coming from using a keyboard and the games of the day were TDU1, NFS Carbon, and simulations such as GTR 2 and Race 07. That said I did lazily try pC1 with keyboard. You should be slower when starting out, just as if you were learning a new track for the first time. Slow, smooth and clean, focus on technique (slow in, fast out, racing lines, look for the corner exit instead of right in front of you, etc). You may also want to review/disable some of the assists that were relied upon for gamepad inputs. There will always be some aliens who can achieve great times without a wheel, but you should find a wheel to be more fun and allow for greater consistency. I would only caution not to fall into the trap of thinking that stronger force feedback is better. It'll just tire you out quicker and possibly make your inputs sloppier. Real cars are designed and setup to be as easy as possible to drive. Set some before and after time trials and race against a former gamepad ghost lap that you record. Here's one of the latest races I did on PS4 at the same track with a wheel. You'll obviously see how it is less twitchy. There's also a decent comeback effort and some battles worth watching if you've got the time to kill ;)
  3. I may have sped it up to 1.5x and switched tabs a few times but I guess I am still sad enough to have watched it
  4. I did notice that, I often see at least one of their tasks as a bit of a chore though. A friend sent me a tuned Dodge Dart which accelerates like a jet, yet somehow doesn't sit still destroying it's tyres.
  5. Funny that's what we usually say about most visitors  :jk:
  6. Richard Burns Rally is free these days and still enhanced by the community if you're into that Richard Burns Rally Lives On with New RBR 2016 Free Download | RaceDepartment
  7. Some wild weather in north-eastern Aus (QLD) Category 2 cyclone hit early morning before dawn today as a Category 4 Hurricane, I believe it has since become Cat 3. Interestingly, despite the very high wind speeds, the actual movement of the storm across the continent is a slow 8km/hour. Night before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KK0AV7ZMPQ
  8. Another good episode... Matt's wandering start to the race was a bit odd to follow but I guess
  9. There's an F1 survey going around Global Fan Survey 2017 I've basically let them know how boring it is
  10. I think they were booing at whatever governmental minister was presenting the trophy - they tend to do that all the time in V8 Supercars
  11. Don't "proper" watches have more than one hand? I guess the inspiration comes from a desire to know what time it is, but not in a massive hurry - besides that some retro car tachometer?
  12. Makes sense and am happy to play along with that but honestly I don't ever recall that being an issue with DGS and any previous incarnation. i.e. I'd say it's harder to make sure all entrants have remembered to vote for someone else
  13. I thought I was the only crazy person here who spent $400 on Windows 7 Ultimate  Thanks mate
  14. When your left hand spends more time on the emergency brake than the gear selector...
  15. Does anyone else out there have a much newer i5 CPU with 4cores + 4 threads? Interested to compare benchmark scores in Cinebench NB - I'm running a 4.1GHz overclock on this system, although Windows doesn't seem to report it. I'm also on Windows 10 (possibly upgraded from 8). New Ryzen 7 CPU's have been sighted with mutilthreaded scores over 1800 (which is perhaps apt given the product name) - this is of course only good for software that is coded well for multithreaded loads (such as video editing/rendering, and perhaps future video games that join the bandwagon).
  16. A lot of 'own goals' certainly are. It's a bit like volleyball, the more times to touch the ball and keep it in the air, the more electrified/powerful it becomes. When it hits the floor it looses that power, and if your team touched it last, then it is your colour, so it cannot damage your side of the arena, only theirs. Some players are so caught up in trying to touch the ball at any cost that they forget where the scoring opportunities are and end up helping the opponents.
  17. This new mode is actually very good fun, at least while most opponents are still trying to work it out
  18. Have you checked in the Options > Audio menu so see if one of the sliders is muted? Otherwise you may try reinstalling.
  19. Ok then. Playersave2 is more of a way for the game to recover from corrupting a save and not a proper backup. You'll have to go back to your previous backup. There are ways to modify car prices (buy low, sell high) to make money but I've never done that so you'll just have to search around.
