1. Programming and reverse engineering, as always. I would not say that's impossible (I'm sure TDU has even more secrets to reveal yet), people would have just to wait until it comes eventually. I've started research about new dealers months ago and had to stop for more important things in life. Maybe I will continue some day, no guarantee you know !
2. 1. TDU traffic is rather unconsistent, but there should always be a few citizens hanging around. Some things might be screwed up somewhere, indeed. 2. Are you using TDU Gold or modified version ? And which are you PC specs ? TDUCP database is way larger than the original one. So as the file mapping index (Bnk1.map).
3. Hi, always glad to see new people discovering TDU experience :) Basically, TDUCP 2.0 is a reworked version of Unofficial Patch 1.68b with ready to use car slots. A new base to get a clean TDU with cool features, and for modders a sandbox to experiment even more car combinations. There's a list of changes here: Releases · djey47/tdu-cp · GitHub Sadly, I'm lacking time and motivation to continue project and it's obvious that people will prefer using pre-made car packs, as Milli proposes today. The issue is that Milli's work is based on 1.68b patch and probably always will. TDUCP and Milli's pack can't be used on the same TDU install. Some people would install TDU at 2 locations to enjoy best of both worlds! About your questions: 1. Steps depends on FULL or UPDATE install. With FULL, extract and replace files is enough. With UPDATE, an installer has to be launched afterwards. 2. The way game is started is not important (but using Project Paradise with -HD flag is highly recommended to enjoy most detailed mods) 3. Many Alfa GTs exist in a dealer, but they are of different tuning levels. Should not happen for Pontiac though, likely a bug. Should not happen with a FULL install. 4. A bug as well, but you're the first person telling about that issue. Should not happen with a FULL install as well. 5. TDUCP2 can replace vanilla game (1.66a) entirely with benefits, for any kind of player. 6. Of course it is. Have fun!
4. Did happen at some time, causes are multiple: memory leaks, added content by mods (graphical, database). Preventing game to load more data into memory. Let's remember that 2006's game engine may suffer of that feature overhead. Patch 1.68b is known to have indesirable side effects on traffic, as well.
5. To me, 'generic' term does not stand for bad sounds or completely synthetic ones, they are likely to be recorded from real car with care. My point is they may take shortcut to reuse them for vehicles with similar (or not so) engine architecture. Like in The Crew game btw, thinking about Minis and Fiat 500 for example ...
6. Yes I did. But due to lack of time I just could confirm that your database structure is completely messed up. And TDUF can't fix this. After having used TDUF for months, I never experienced it. Maybe some kind of TDUMT/TDUF change conflict.... You should use a backup, then.
7. Sounds are quite good in FH3, that's right! But, I would not say they are totally accurate for each car. Having a sound recorded for each vehicle (500+ so far), is just impossible, so they also use generic (4-cylinder, muscle V8 ...) with a few or no FX processing. But don't get me wrong, most of them are of great quality... and that's a great balance between ultimate accuracy and developer workload :)
8. I can't remember when car DLC name and contents would even follow kind of logic :D Logitech Car Pack I'm looking at you .... cars don't even have G25 inspired steering wheel
9. Patch 1.68 does not allow new brands to be tuned by default -- mainly because there's a limit in brands which can be tuned in a shop. It can be unlocked for Porsche I think, it will require changes in database (TDUF Database Editor may help you). It's a matter of fiddling between AftermarketPacks and CarPacks data. I had plans to write an article explaining how to do this, but TDU is not in my projects right now.
10. Nice mod, did anyone test it with HD patch ? Results should be great as it improves grass drawing distance
11. Hi, you can do it easily with TDUF: TDUF Rims Handling · djey47/tdu-cp Wiki · GitHub otherwise, you can directly remove the option in tdu_car_rims.db file (you'll need to find the right line though)
12. There is special iso image file available on the internet. It can fool securom. Just mount it with daemon tools(scsi mode) or alcohol 120.
13. In TDU2 they solved issue of high performance gap between classic cars, by introducing class and performance rank altogether. That was a great enhancement - shame for the rest :p
14. Your db.bnk has something special for sure. Send me a copy and I'll see what the catch is. Might be an opportunity to fix it, this time!
15. Does it happen only after changing cameras ? Or everytime you click on Save button ? That's not so obvious to fix... it might be related to original BNK files you're using. To check this, you should do this once : - load database - replace original-DB.bnk in database/json-cache/ by a clean copy (DB.BNK from TDUCP 2.0A for example) - give the same name. - make your changes - when saving next time, it will use clean original as skeleton for your modified database (will ignore contents). Let me know please.
16. Database fix can't restore original line as it does not use backup. It gives default values.
17. I see you set complementary view kind to 3, what is the consequence ? I thought only existing view types were allowed (23, 43, 24, 44 ...)
18. It should. Let me see previous posts ... I assume so. :p --- Post Updated --- Glad it helps!
19. Announcement : TDUF toolset 1.12 now available ! That's a major release with plenty of new features and bugfixes! It was worth the wait :p Documentation is still at the same place, getting more and more up-to-date TDUF Database Editor Cameras · djey47/tdu-cp Wiki · GitHub Please let me know, if you need more explanation on certain topics. As I'm definely too lazy to post full change log everytime, for the rest please refer to embedded README file in zip archive :D And... have fun!
20. Hey, having many many things to handle right now, thus per-month TDUF release will be delayed a bit. Good news is I encountered that rear view bug when applying some changes, and I found how to fix it. Steering Wheel Tilt setting is fully functional now (see pics below). One news being not enough, I discovered a new setting, which is the complementary view number (that's the view TDU will use when pressing back view button). So that would be theorically possible to switch to different view kind temporarily). 1.12 version should be ready before the end of next week if everything works as expected. TILT = 0 TILT = 127 TILT = 255
21. It seems to be an issue by your side, I could not reproduce this behaviour. You should check your database for errors and clear database cache as well to perform a full reload. If that does not work, you should send your database files for investigation.
22. Maybe... but that would need further investigation and updated tools. For now it's just possible to get game spots database and open it. Not sure if new spots can be added. Once spots added, opening a dealer should be a breeze ;)
23. Ever tried getting and mounting 'fake' ISO in daemon tools ? My dvd has been laying in its box for ages ...
24. Hi, It might be an issue with database caching to improve TDUF performance. TDUMT and TDUF can't be used at the same time. Make your changes in TDUMT first, save and close TDUMT. Launch TDUF then load database. If TDUF does not display new rims still, go to Settings, hit advanced and reset database cache button. Load again. It should work now.
