About This File

This mod replaces the northern secret island (known as unfinished island) with a new island. This new island is a drivers paradise with banked tarmac roads and dirt rallying tracks. Its a real blast to drive(especially with Surfin' USA on the radio) and i hope everyone will be as delighted as me and my friend.  🙂

Problems:

Flying guardrails, couldn't change PMIs so they will have to remain here for now.

Road Texture, the roads only use R_C_00.2db. I know that the roads use multiple textures but didn't get round to it.

Installation:

Extract to your TDU1 directory (same location of Euro file) Let it overwrite Area -1-1 contents.

How to get there:

Bookmark coordinates: Documents\Test Drive Unlimited\savegame\YourUsername\bookmark\bookmark.txt

Copy this:

"Surf Island"   1 10162.41 34.09 8955.99 0.862 0.007 0.508  427894457

Then paste it into your bookmark.txt. Make sure to keep the comma at the bottom of the list.

Brilliant, I can't believe anyone could put his hands on it again...

This mod has even more potential I believe, I would be glad to help with improving it.

Note to myself : time to go on with reverse engineering on map spots ... would be great to have POI over here 🤩

Hints to enhance the mod :

- Provide island textures to view from a distance (from map)

- Provide thumbnail for bookmark

How did you put trees if you dont know about .pmi files ? I am curious mhh...

I stole them from other sectors that had them, XD. This explains why you see flying guardrails. I'm not having much luck jsonifying those PMIs using TDUF.

If You don't have any other bookmarks then this should work. Copy this to Documents\Test Drive Unlimited\savegame\USERNAME\bookmark

I somehow don't have the "bookmark.txt" on the game files, and i can't find it, could you help telling me exactly where the island is?

Really awesome addition, Spent a short amount of time exploring and seeing whats what and was really impressed just how much there is on 1 small island can't wait to start throwing more cars around it haha. Also love the Bookmark thing is very cool idea I never really considered haha

Only disadvantage is the fact it's not a actual road aka if you crash then hit Back to Road button it will take you all the way back to the main OG roads. But I'm not gonna hold against as it appears every other mod has the same issue so gonna presume it's an issue adding actual roads into the game but that aside it is fantastic addition and fun to go tearing round (Just don't get yourself stuck XD).

Highly recommend whether you actually play TDU 2 or not 😆

not working for me the bookmark and the island not appears

Updated the bookmark instructions. If you dont have a bookmark.txt. Go ingame, freedrive mode, pause menu, bookmarks and create new bookmark. This will generate a bookmark.txt. Then follow the GIf in the mods description. Its quite a hard place to find without the bookmark, if the mod replaced the contents of Area-1-1 then it should be there.
