Musicians, they are so original!

^ Didn't you notice that the music stayed the same. Its supposed to prove that musicians are not original, and sure it sort of succeeds, but in the same way that putting every different version of 'Feeling Good' into one video would.

Thats very good. I'm pretty surprised that there are so many songs the same, however it was clear that a few of them had been changed slightly (I'm not talking about tempo - I mean keys).

I think its a great medley, it was on the scott mills show (and podcast)

Theres a lot of medley's out there, i dont see anything wrong with it, unless he releases it

He plays the same chord all the way through it, hes trying to show how many songs you can make sound good with the same chord

Yer, one isn't that the 12 bar blues? And secound they have messed with that compleatly. Listen to a few of the songs, what they have done is taken the tune from jurney, taken the vioces and changed their tone so they mis and stuck it all together.

that's only the basic backing chords, sounds like a 3 chord structure to me, like 1-5-6, status quo made their name on 3 chords structures haha!

loads of songs do it, its a good stable foundation to a song, notice that the songs fitted with that music but it was the lyrics that were reckognisable, using simple chords and making a very lyrical song isn't lazy, as lyrics are a bugger to write, also, all those examples were in the chorus, lots of pieces of music don't have one chord structure throughout.

again, the chords may have been the foundation, but on songs like where is the love theres huge string accompniments that are far from lazy

But why not use diferent ones? They don't sound the same but there are allmost an infinate amount of chords. Its why I listen to prog rock, is brilliant and different.

for the same reason songs are written in 4/4 rather than 3/4, for the best part it's easier and much more effective.

long before Status quo were running off 3 chord wonders like Down Down...

They made a brilliant creative song that is much more complex, they actually dumbed down their songs. it's called pictures of matchstick men

sometimes when it comes to music, less is much more, less complex songs sell better as they can be more catchy to the wider market. quite alot of music is simple really, people may fantasize over playing like herman li (dragonforce) but all he does is play scales very, very fast.

In the first vid, I think they stole from Nightwish - The Phantom of The Opera, even the name of the song is the same...:stinks:

Oh please, how young are you? Don't you know the Phantom Of The Opera?

You have it all wrong young man, NIGHTWISH stole the song (ok not really stole just redid it) from Andrew Lloyd Webber!

The Phantom Of The Opera-1986

Formation of Nightwish-1996

Now, tell me who copied who?
