I have a iPhone question

Hey guys, I was just wondering cos I'm interested in an iPhone because my Sony Ericsson W910i is starting to die on me.

Would it be possible to put a O2 (contract) SIM card straight into a iPhone and not have any problems? Would I have to ask O2 on this?

Cheers.

Yeah, it seems feasible as long as the phone isn't locked.

But trust me, the iPhone is not what it's cracked up to be. No video recording, poor camera, no MMS, VERY expensive and among all that there are much better phones out there.

I was going to go for an iPhone till I spotted the (now my) LG KU990 Viewty.

Can you even open up an iPhone, I thought it was sealed ... unless you like get specialist tools ...

You cant even change the battery, you have to go to a Apple Store for that. Pretty stupid. I've heard more problems than good things about the iphone so i should just get another phone.

Here are some suggestions :)

- Nokia 5800 Xpress Music

- LG KC-910

- Sony-Ericsson Xperia X1

- Samsung M-8800

- Samsung F-480 TouchWiz

*cough* jailbreak! :p

if you can find an unlocked iPhone, i say go for it. it's loads of fun customizing a jailbroken iphone. there is a way to unlock it by yourself, yellowsnow, but there are some problems at the moment with it.

and, yellowsnow is out which unlocks the iphone 3g. :)

You should be able to, I don't see why not. You can easily unlock the iPhone and get video recording by various programs if you jailbreak it, and I know some people with iPhones, one has it on Vodafone, one on Orange and one on 3 and all the features work fine.

And tbh, have a play with the iPhone and have a play with some other phones. If you want a phone for a mini games console or a mini gadget of sorts as well as a phone, go for the iPhone, there isn't another phone out there that fits that job as well as the iPhone.

+ aswell

Aye. It's not here on TDU-C it's on another forum I'm a member of as well. The people who say the iPhone is rubbish are the ones who don't own one and people who do like it. If you guys want a read through, I'll post a link incase y'all just think I'm an Apple Fanboy, which I sort of am. Q_Q

Yeah, but the O2 guys don't seem to know what they're talking about when it comes to the features of the iPhone...

Although, there are some other choices to consider, such as a HTC TyTn II (I have one, it's brilliant), Samsung Blackjack II, a rock, loads of other great phones that are cheaper than the iPhone...

most 02 shops have got iPhones Chris, saving you a trip to a major city ;)

My nearest O2 and Apple shops are 20 mins drive away, so I can go to both.

Also I only want to use the iPhone for texting, calls, play games and internet browsing so I don't really mind if I can't change the memory card or do MMS or record videos.

@DriftNismo, that pic is good. :)

Anyway, thanks for all the advice guys. :)

I'm getting one in July that's when my 2 years with my provider are up. If I lock up with them again for another 2 years (which is what I really am going to do) I can get a free iPhone 3g or get rebates on my monthly bills. My monthly bills are so low so I'll get the iPhone! :D

I haz iPawd Touch and iPwn!

Seriously the Iphone is a sucky phone. I personally recommend a Nokia N95. They are dirt cheap now & do EVERYTHING!

My mum has one, I don't wanna get the same phone as her in case our phones get mixed up, my family get everything mixed up in my house.
