EasyCAP - Seriously?

Right, i bought this card to capture of my xbox the other day and its pure quality :P

 

for about a tenner (or less on ebay):

if anyone was thinking about paying 60 dont bother this bit of kit will do fine, for youtube, other such websites.

 

however i wouldn't recomend using it to pay 24/7 on your pc.

 

 

right now for a tut.

i will show you the way to get your xbox to play in pal60 and recored sucessfully everytime.

the xbox must be set to pal 60 to play all games, i found this out with call of duty, have not yet tried test drive (as its semi-broken)

Using DScaler for your captures imo is best, it's very good indeed. And does this mean I might get to be in front of the camera for a change? lol

EDIT: i looked up dscaler and it doesnt support, easyCAP maybe the sites not updated but i dunno, can you comfirm this?

seven hours and counting of preview graph fail hell :(

either the driver i'm using is wrong for xp or the connections are wrong cos i cannot get a pic on this thing to save my life no matter what tutorial i follow...

well according to "my computer" the device is working correctly.

the properties of the device detects a signal displaying 525 lines but no matter what i try it will not preview and i'm always left with a black screen.

giving up and buying a gun instead...

Don't worry Fizz, I have the same problems with mine. ;)

 

Seems it's pot luck on which version of EasyCAP you get, you _need_ the DC60+ version. So it's basically a game of russian roulette on which version you get. From what I can see anyway.

Only buying direct from them guarantees which version you get, most eBay and Amazon listings don't even have a clue what versions they have and/or sending out.

 

I actually have a TV Tuner card in my PC from the factory, just I am too lazy to set it up properly. :)

yeah that's what i thought.

some are listed acurately though i've noticed.

diab tells me the error message i'm/we're getting (can't build preview graph) is because another programme is already acessing the device.

unfortunately i have no idea what or how to stop it doing so...

i am getting messages saying i'm receiving a signal though - 625 lines 1 signal.

this message coincides with my turnig on and off of the 360 too...

so it's working just not being displayed...

Just that it won't display 60Hz. Which is what you need a DC60+ for. ;)
