TDU why no BMW and porsche ?? :S

Hello guys ! , I have always wonder why there ist no BMW and Porsche in TDU :confused: ??

Atari simply didn't get the licence i don't think.

EA has a unique license deal for both Porsche and BMW, meaning that both of those are EA-only. :(

BMW would be a HUGE part to the game.

 

Since Porsche is not in the game, Atari got around that by adding RUF.

Not strictly, there are games outside of EA which feature both those manufactures.

Turn 10 are in a bit of a battle to get images of Porsche cars shown in their media due an exclusivity deal with EA. Also BMW and the Gran Turismo series have a very good rapport so if BMW hooks up an exclusive licence with EA they can also demand that Polyphony Digital is allowed their models.

 

Exclusivity is stupid, some suit at Porsche is costing them a fortune in licence fees but tbh it's brilliant for RUF (and maybe even Gemballa) as they get snapped up instead. lol

 

Forza had BMW and Porsche when EA had them as they paid a crap load of money to EA in order to have them.

 

AFAIK Porsche is the only manufacturer that deals exclusively, BMW seems to have learned and is now a free agent if the money is good enough!
