Hey there. I was looking for a thread which answers my question. I didnt find it. So if anybody could help me please.

 

If you install the megapack with the original TDU game key and not with the megapack key, and you are banned from the servers is just your profile banned or you will be unable to use your key ever again which came with the game. I supose that only your account which you created is banned, or not?

So what you are trying to say is... You have to buy a new key? You have to buy a new copy of the game, yes?

You don't have to buy anything else.

If you have Windows XP, go to X/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Test Drive Unlimited/ and open "Addon.txt". Change the Key in that file to the one that you got in an e-mail when you bought the Megapack.

In Windows Vista and 7 do the same thing, except go to X/Program Data/Test Drive Unlimited/. In either case, you need to set up Explorer so that it will show hidden files and folder, otherwise you won't see any of these folders.

I know this what you just wrote. But if you dont have the key for the mega pack. Then what? You have to uninstal the game and make a new account... Or not? :)

You will get an error saying "Download content was not saved. You will be disconnected." Although I installed the megapack without a cdkey and it only lasted a week until this error showed up, and it was because I didn't have the addon.txt(which is where your megapack cdkey is placed). After this I had to re-install the game without the megapack, and if your profile had megapack cars inside the houses then it won't work either after you re-install the game(unless you installed the megapack again with the cdkey) so your profile is basically screwed unless you install the megapack and the cdkey or delete the megapack cars from your garage using hexworkshop or something.

 

So basically no, nothing will be banned. You might lose your profile but just keep a backup of your profile before you install the megapack, assuming you're gonna try it, which you probably will. :)

Also I've just been 'told' that it is possible to install the megapack without the cdkey and still play normally. But you must not have any of the megapack cars in your house garage, or you will get the error I just pointed out. So basically you can see other people driving the megapack cars but you can't, lol. :p
