I posted that one earlier already xD

Here's another update:

There is still a lot of hard work ahead of us to finish the game, and frankly we are paying more attention to game development rather than to our blog recently. A small team like us with no dedicated people for PR and marketing is frequently facing such trade-offs: which is more important - to make the game or to promote it? One comes at direct expense of the other, so it's a tough choice.

But we hear your constant inquires about news, so today we have created at least something simple to show that we are still alive. The video below is a string of few quick "living screenshot" clips from the Euro Truck Simulator 2 world, showing the Depth of Field effect in use.

It almost looks too good to be a simple truck driving game :)

The environment graphics partly remind me of Crash Time and TDU2 (Ibiza), although it's been a few months since I've played either.

I doubt so, it's a different kind of game series (it would more likely to be introduced in another 18 Wheels of Steel game), this is Europe though, only extreme trucking we have consists of oversized loads.

I'm waiting for MB Actros. I hope they will add it.

You ask, they deliver:

The Actros was one of the first 3D truck models that we have started working on when we commenced the Euro Truck Simulator 2 project. Time is flying a bit too fast for us, the New Actros was launched meanwhile to replace the MP3, but this model would definitely make a great addition to the ETS2 truck fleet.

We have been involved in licensing talks with Daimler ever since we have met their representatives at IAA Hannover over a year ago. Honestly this is one of the tougher nuts to crack, and the next few weeks will be decisive. It would be a pity to have to pretend in our game that such a prominent brand doesn't exist, when the game will be proudly showing so many other real European truck brands. Perhaps if we can attract a lot of views of this new YouTube movie we will have another important argument to use in our licensing discussion. Our ambition hasn't be fully satisfied just with the MP3 model ;-).

For the newcomers to our blog and SCS YouTube Channel, before the weekend we thought it would be nice to give you a wrap-up of the various ETS2 movies that we have published so far, and the following playlist might do the trick:

It is going to be great game for sure

Agreed. They've come so far with this, the only way this game can be a failure is if Atari take it on.

I'm eagerly anticipating it's launch!

It is not just real trucks that we are trying to have in our game, we would love to make our Euro Truck Simulator 2 world filled with as much real stuff as possible. This is a long term effort that may not be fully realized with the initial release of ETS2, but we will be pursuing it over time. For now, here is a practical example of this push, something that truck drivers stopping to take fuel while driving across Czech Republic might encounter...

There is quite a lot of requests in your comments for showing more than just scenery and vehicles all the time. Indeed it's about time to reveal a bit more about the game, even though of course we will want to keep some things as a surprise until release.

The support for truck lighting and illumination has been reworked for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Crucial features are still accessible by hotkeys, but all the functionality has been brought together under one roof in a handy user interface dialogue.
