Here is a thread where I shall post random stuff such as model cars and kits I'm building.

So here's that Fujimi S15 model I've been rambling on about:

How it looked to begin with, minus the seats which I bought seperately

Started a little front bumper mod, cutting out the side openings and making them just ever so slightly bigger

And done :D

Back on the model

Cut the boot lid off, yes that is a slight gouge in the lid after the knife slipped D:

I'm making some boot compartment 'walls' out of 1mm think balsa wood, I'll paint them matte black when I'm done and coat them with dark grey flocking powder

Hopefully it will look a lot better than just this :p

And lastly, the Volk CE28N's I painted, black with a red ring like the Time Attack versions and an unpainted, modified brake assembly :D

Well, I got another model. This one was purely to experiment on to help another forum member with their models.

Thats pretty much it so far. Still gotta clear coat the body. Engine bay was done in matte black then a semi-gloss clear over the top. The other pic is the engine distributor. It's all wired up, just gotta finish painting the base of it. I'll start on painting and flocking the interior this weekend :)

Incase anybody is wondering, the S15 is still pretty much in the state as it was in the photos above, I was waiting for about a month and a half for some bits to arrive. It's all ready to get stuck back into now, but I'll get back on it when I finish the Challenger model :btup

Okay, I've started another model. A Mini this time :D

Here's some pics of it so far, in the bare green plastic after the molding lines had been sanded away and the rest of the body scuffed up, ready for primer. Then in primer, then in paint. The colour is Ferrari red. It'll end up having a pure white roof and bonnet stripes.

Ignore the body panel lines... I decided to use a gap accent highlighter, never used them before. Unfortunately I didn't find anything on the internet, or the package, that said to draw them on after the clearcoat has gone on. I did them before the clearcoat to seal them in, but unfortunately when the wet paint hit them they decided to bleed out a little. But still, it's barely noticeable in person. You wouldn't know they bleed if you weren't looking for it.

Sanded away the mold lines with 400grit sandpaper, then scuffed up the rest of the body with green ScotchBrite, you should use red because it's softer, but I only had green, so meh. It did the job.

Didnt bother wet sanding back the primer before painting, I just used some 800 grit paper in a couple of spots where a spot of dust found it's way onto the primer.

And 2 coats of Ferrari red and 1 clear later, this is the result. Still not finished though, gonna give it another coat of clear tomorrow night, then start to cut & polish it.

Thanks mate. No new progress worth noting on the S15 yet, I'll be getting another S15 soon which I'll leave completely stock when I assemble it, so I have a rough idea of the fit and finish on it before I spend too much more time on the one I've gone crazy on modifying.

I've done some more to the Mini, body is cut and polished, underside and chassis has been painted and detailed, gonna start on the engine tomorrow night.

Meanwhile, I had a rather expensive trip to the hair dresser today. I walked in and there was another guy already getting his hair cut when I noticed a new hobbyshop across the street. So I ran over to have a look while I was waiting with the intention of not buying anything. PFFT LOL, yeah right. As soon as I walked in the door I saw about 6 rare model kits I've been after. So I picked the 2 hardest to come by and grabbed 'em. He gave me a discount, so the total only came to $95, not bad.

First one is a Fujimi Ferrari 250 GTO, the kit has 188 pieces and is pretty damn detailed. It has all the markings and size lettering on the tyres too. Been wanting to get one for a while now, but never really got around to actually looking for one.

Second one is a Fujimi enthusiast series Lamborghini 25th Anniversary Countach. It's a really detailed kit and getting extremely hard to come by now. It has around 300 pieces. I've been after one of these for quite a while now, I'm ecstatic to finally have one :D

Check out all those pieces for a 1/24 car!

Can't wait to start them both :D The Countach will be a challenge, but I look forward to it. And I'm unsure whether to build the 250 GTO box stock or go aftermarket with it, there are countless amounts of upgraded parts and kits available for it.

What were the other 4 model kits, just out of curiosity? XD

Can't remember :p lol

I've given the model kits a bit of a break, I got halfway through a Supra but then just stopped, they're kinda all WIPs. Just been too busy with stuff and my real car to sit down and do them.

However, I was looking at one of my small scale RC cars earlier while bored, also 1/24, and you might be able to guess where this is going...

I opened another one of my Supra kits and sat the body on top of the rc car, the wheelbases are perfect! So it got me thinking, maybe I could do something different with it, because the RC car is an 'offroader' I figured maybe I could make a Dakar buggy style Supra. Would be different for sure. I'd just have to make a little bracket to extend the front bullbar thingy further forwards so the body could sit over the top of the wheels, I'd then take off the rear bullbar thingy and the side bar thingys. The body will be sitting lower than it does in the pics below, at the rear anyway.

Also not sure whether I'll just keep the stock body how it is in the below pics, or to try and hack up two different Supra kits to add an extra inch or so to the width of one body which should bring it out equal to about where the wheels are.

That looks like something you'd drive on the new Ubisoft game "The Crew"... Btw, amazing models you got! I've got some tamiya SGT skylines and a supra, my best work so far... But yours is something amazing they look like metal models!

Talking about metal models, i've got an unpainted Porsche in a box, the wheels (and tires) are missing, any ideas for buying them through internet?
