[headline]The Crew Console Open Beta[/headline]

This came out of nowhere! The Crew is to get another console beta - this time it's Open - starting later this month on November 25th. That's a week before it's actual release! What is the reason for this you ask - are they testing the server infrastructure, looking for more feedback or just feel that 3 is their lucky number? Could be all of them to be honest.

They should have called this a Demo. As it really won't have much affect on the product we receive, it might boost interest in the game before release though.

Yeah, I imagine that's basically what it is. That and a stress test for the servers. Being an open beta I imagine the servers may crap themselves a few times before release then :lol:

Just a quick update: the game has already gone gold. Again, I can't post any links here, so I'll copy and paste Natchai's post on facebook:

Calling it a beta just means we can't yell at them if something breaks, and also that they're still work on it (as in post release stuff). They can still of course patch servers behind the scenes even if the game is gold.

as I've stated a few times before, the upcoming open beta is very much for us to stress test servers and work out any network/server kinks we might still encounter. It's NOT a demo, as the build you'll be playing isn't representative of the final game.
