TUDOR United Sportscar Championship 2015

I'm sure between the lot of us you'll find fans of GT3, LMP-style cars, and North American race tracks (made popular by video games)... so with the 24 hour race at Daytona Road course starting today (Saturday), let's see if we can't generate a little interest and discussion in the 2015 season.

 

There are 4 classes racing on track simultaneously = lots of overtaking, and potentially lots of crashes.

That Ligier is amazingly fast ! Almost won Le Mans last year with G Drive Racing. It's gonna be epic as you said in every class but the GLTM is THE class to watch ;) Great to see Simon Pagenaud with Corvette.

Good GT battle between Porsche Ferrari and Corvette going on as the sunlight fades away.

Well there was before the Ferrari span! But yeah a very entertaining past 10 minutes.

Hard to tell with the guest drivers.

 

Another caution period which should be over soon so should see some more good racing.

Still trying to sus out the caution period rules here with some classes flying past the others.

 

The rule preventing pit stops during yellow (besides emergency fuel and tyre punctures) is quite clever.

Keeping tabs on Rene Rast atm, who's driving extremely well.

IMSA radio is good at missing things... Multiple cars spun off of turn 3 and I don't remember hearing a single mention of it until after the caution was just thrown.

Another caution period due to the 912 GTLM Porsche making contact with... something

 

 

 

 

and the 911 car is stuck - quite possibly they hit each other

 

 

[+] #911 and #007 Aston came together, #912 had nowhere to go, spun across grass into #911

I'm finding it mental they managed to get that 007 Aston back in the race after that contact with the Ferrari hours ago.

Kinda fell asleep, somehow woke up just after the second time the #48 Audi crashed, then fell asleep again and woke up for the final 40 minutes. Good race.

Anyone else following Sebring today? I've been flicking it on and off inbetween the rugby games, it's not been pretty good and it should be building to a good finish.

I'm watching it. I want the LMP2s to bring back victory to LMP style cars. I don't like DPs :D

Good race overall :nods: GTLM as always have the best battle. But I miss the Vipers.

Yup, GTLM is great entertainment and the cars are the best looking too.

 

I don't mind the DPs, I just with there was a bigger link with production cars with them, in that I want a homologation special of those corvette DPs etc.

Also a small update on the pit crew member that got ran over by a P and a PC crashing into each other on the way out of their pit boxes, they've released him from the medical centre, all's okay I think.
