Xbox controllers - Different Ports???

Hi, I bought an original Xbox from a carboot sale for £25 with 3 controllers. When I got it home i realised that none of the controllers fitted the ports. They were a small connection and yet the Xbox had much larger ports. From what I understand there is an adaptor for this. I have now bought a conroller off ebay and hope that it fits. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I think the original Xbox controllers were custom made ports. The 360 controllers connect via USB. I wasn't even aware of a converter so top marks there. :)

Yep that's correct there jb, the Xbox had what it called trip-proof controller wires in that they split off from the bit of wire connecting to the console should they be tripped over or pulled on.

 

Sad I know but hey it was made with the US in mind! (j/p) :D

I think its a good idea personally (they're on teh wired 360 pads too)

Yeah, its a good idea but incredibly annoying when you dont have the connector !!
