Reputation Power is garnered by a few factors such as received reputation, post count and longevity. The main factor that corresponds to your actual Reputation though is what others give you. Someone can have a very high post count but there rep or lack of might well tell you they're more a spammer, whereas a member with lesser posts but more rep can be seen as one who is valued and helpful to the community.

 

Reputation power is nothing special, it's Reputation that will give you an idea of what a member is like.

 

I've also just noticed I have a value set to high so I'm going to change that, though it shouldn't affect too many people it might affect the most rep'd members a little.
