nice, an alienware for a first laptop. :(

i would've opt for a 8800 series card for the gpu, but the 8600 is good card for gaming too. ;)

Only reason I would buy an Alien Ware is because it looks cool, other than that it is a rip off.

And an 8800 in a laptop isn't a very good idea, since the 8800 can get quite hot, along with the CPU, Hard Drive, DVD Drive all compact in a laptop, unless it had serious cooling I don't think you'll have more than 1-2 hours of gameplay out of it in one session, with out it burning your lap.

Dont worry, ave got that covered. ave got a glass desk with a mini external high speed coolin fan underneath the glass to keep it cool from the bottom up.

I love the Alienware Area 51 Pc's but can't justify the £6k price when I spec one. Still cheaper than the Great white for £12k.

Nice laptop tho

lol yeh. ma mate got one of the PC's about 2yrs ago n loved it.. still does lol.

Cheers.

[would give you rep. but a have before lol]

Good thing you're getting the 8700m GT insted of the 8600m GT, there's a difference in performance.

I have that 8600m GT 256 Mb myself on my laptop, and it's good, but not that good, I would def. suggest you to go for one with at least 512 Mb ram if you intend to play newer games on your laptop IMO. 8700M GT is alright. :)

Yeh thats why a upgraded it. am gettin another 2gb of ram bt a need to wait till a get it so a can analyse it to see what model of card a can put in.
