  1. After writing that post and re-checking the info I basically said 'what the heck' and upgraded from Senior to Manager. I was going to say that's the most expensive racing game but then I forgot about how much some people have spent on iRacing with no hope of RoI. At least I don't have to worry about the tax implications this year.
  2. 1. Is being a senior member (100 euros) really worth upgrading from the full member position (45 euros)? The more you spend, the more perks you get, and the more money you hope to receive in return. Seniors will get discounted DLC as well as the free final game. Members in higher tiers hold greater weight in some polls (i.e. a senior manager vote might be worth the same as 25 junior votes or something like that). You can upgrade to high tiers and pay the difference at any time. 2. How big is the game to download? What are the average sizes of the updates/patches? Builds are released each Friday usually. The first Friday build of the month is a bit over 3GB now (I remember the first builds last October were only 1GB) and patches are 300-400MB each other week. Probably worth waiting until next Friday's build if you want to save on downloads, but there's plenty of interesting forum threads to read through in the meantime. This latest patch is 765mb but it's the end of the month and has a lot of weather changes and a new car, and Monaco is a recent track addition. 3. It says I'll get a free copy when the full version is released (if I get it I'm not gonna go lower than the full member option), does anyone know if that's a downloadable version or a code of somewhat that gets me a free retail disc version? It's been confirmed you can get the PC or a console version, so possibly either, but no doubting downloadable will be an option. The final game is due for release in the back half of 2013 so you have plenty of time to improve your Internet connection. The builds are available via torrent so you could always ask a friend to download them for you (useless to them without a username and password). 4. It says tool pack, does that mean I get access to change the script files, textures etc.? TweakIt is a dev program that runs alongside the game that allows you to mess with lighting/weather, etc. You can make your own car textures/liveries in Ps/Gimp. I've never tried it personally. 5. What are the exclusive cars and tracks? :D The country road P2P tracks are exclusive to Team Member+ I think. Search YouTube for Azure Coast and California Highway videos. Oooh ooh, I read that I get money back when the full game is released? What's with that? Because members invest 70% into the game they receive 70% of the profits, to be paid to members quarterly (minus a temporary 10% to cover refunds/returns) for 2 years. You'd have to be at least Senior level to worry about this anyway. You are also permitted to purchase multiple tool packs for multiple accounts (just use the same Paypal email address for each payment) as long as you don't give your account password to anyone else. I have a Senior account and a Team Member account that my brother uses (I type the password into the game once a month for him so he doesn't know it). I looked into it a few months ago and think conservatively I could stand to get 4x the money I spent in return (based on the sales figures for Shift 2 Unleashed). Members who make significant contributions to the game or advertising may receive more than those who sign up and do nothing. Read the PDF file linked in the first post for more details. After a member vote pCARS will not be a free to play + microtransaction DLC game any more - will just be a normal retail game.
  3. I don't have plenty of time to find plenty of time :(
  4. My HotWheels never caught fire :(
  5. The week 3 entry thread is here: http://forum.tdu-central.com/threads/28617-DGSotW-Week-3-Hot-Hatches
  6. DGSotW Hall of Fame Week 3 Theme: Hot Hatches Chosen by: T1M Winner: superhyper
  7. Congratulations to Fiddled Fork for winning the Driving Game Screenshot of the Week last week. * Stick to the implied theme (don't look for technical loopholes) * Images must not exceed 800kB, and be at least 915px wide to fit the PoTW TV. * Each person who enters must cast a vote in the same week to remain eligible. You may not vote for yourself. * Winner picks the next theme, unless winning consecutively, in which case the runner up decides. * Winner has 48h to PM a new theme to me or another member of staff if I'm away, if they fail to meet this then the theme will be a free round. * Competition is limited to games on all platforms of any age that are classified as driving/racing games. (i.e. FPS games that have cars in them wouldn't be eligible). Please mention what game your screenshot is from. * Minor non-enhancing editing permitted (cropping, addition of your name, etc) is permitted, as long as the actual screenshot isn't tampered with. Just like all these other comps. Week 3: Hot Hatches 1. Loz 2. Ryzza5 3. TimBud - Entry less than 915px 4. Mercedes-Benz http://i455.photobucket.com/albums/qq279/username_046/Beznzvu-2-1.jpg 5. 8. It's quoted from another forum dummkopf! :fp:
  9. Yep, too late Sponge, but very nice. When you see the announcement of the DGSotW entry or voting period ending that's when it's time up. (So make sure you participate in it from now on) :p pyrre's turn to pick
  10. I'm sure Eden did say roughly the same thing though  It's quoted in someone's signature
  11. SMS have started building that track in pCARS, it'll be interesting to compare screenies later (since members have created those liveries for the Formula A car)
  12. Congrats to the three-pronged-photographer. Please PM me with a new theme asap. Thanks for the two votes I got as well :ty: And commiserations to Tim :glomp:
  13. Roughly about 3 hours from now (I go out to play squash with mates Friday nights). Usually lines up well with a new pCARS weekly build as well. DGSotW voting also ends at the same time, so get a move on if you haven't voted. Got your message in Steam when I came home from work about 20 mins ago ;)
  14. Have you seen how busy the interior of the new ST is? Less buttons in the middle on this version is better, although I prefer the silver trim pieces from above: It sort of looks nice but a bit too much at the same time. At least those awful XR5 plastics are gone. Oh all right then, give me one with paddle shifters and I'll have a go :p
  15. Will they include snakes? :p
  16. Sounds like you need a wheel to enjoy it anyway. Not sure if the 360 version will support new Fanatec FF wheels or not
  17. It's an environment mod, so no. ;)
  18. Haha, I love how pyrre posts top times without any commotion as if he beat them without raising a sweat If any of you elite racers are bored can you please indulge this guy: WMD Forum
