1. I'm sure others will care when IPv4 addresses run out and ISP's start using NAT for multiple houses and everyone's P2P programs stop working :cheeky:
2. There was an old forum challenge to see who could win Gold on the around the island challenge using the slowest car. Pretty sure Group D cars were being used successfully.

4. Wow. I expect plenty more photos. And videos. And stats. :p
5. World IPv6 Launch gets 27 percent of pageviews on IPv6 | Ars Technica
6. This thread is for everyone who wants to reinstall TDU1, start a new profile, and play like it's 2007. Let's see how quickly we can level up and organise some fun online cruises + events - all to be discussed in this thread. If you don't quite have a the motivation or excitement, find an old thread from before TDU1's release date and read up on the various announcements and everyone's excitement in response, that ought to help. TDU1 2012 Players : Ryzza5, MrLolololXD, SuperHyperTDU1, Acid44, Lambo Llama, Ozzmcom, Proph3cy, TDUFREAK500, Googleproxer
7. Might I suggest Asprin + plugging in your G25 :)
8. I thought hippies who don't have jobs and drive crudboxes are the type who go to music festivals, or is my generalization off by a few decades? I wonder if there will be plenty of station wagons and panel vans in FH :oook:
9. Sounds like a challenge waiting to be issued :)
10. I was thinking most of the hardcore racing cars with liveries, etc would be the ones that are cut since they belong on race tracks and not really open world.
11. Was just reading about IPv6 again today :) Connecting with IPv6 in Windows 8 - Building Windows 8 - Site Home - MSDN Blogs

If you find a way to populate those other islands with new roads and scenery I'm sure there will be many players looking for their TDU1 DVD's. Good luck. :)
13. This is the second time you've made a poll Clarence where I can't see Pressurized's entry pic (but I can see it fine in the entry thread). Don't you like him or something? Did a refresh and it's back - might be something weird with his image host. Voted for the Civic but Clarence would've been my 2nd pick.
14. Who's going to be first to preorder? :p Forza Horizon - Xbox 360 - EB Games Australia
15. Just right-click the <div id="header" class="floatcontainer doc_header"> bit and delete it. The only downside to that is you first have to right-click the arse and choose Inspect Element  Nice minimalistic feel after deleting the banner :)
16. I didn't think you were that big of a car geek Diablo
17. You can also use the same method to delete any annoying aspects on this website, such as the banner video :cheeky:
18. Wonder if it'll have that Kinect head tracking thing. Never bothered trying it in FM4 but perhaps it might be more useful (if it works) in this title.
19. Some decent info in that video. The funny thing about the "getting lost" part is that I have a great sense of direction with O'ahu and in real life mainly because of the more authentic road replication. In TDU1 it's often not a big deal if you go the wrong way as you can always take the next turn, go offroad, or you can read the road signs and remember some of the suburb names. But other games such as NFS undercover, HP2010, etc are harder to navigate due to the smaller number of intersections. You might want to head right on the map so you turn that way at an intersection, only to find that after 500m there's a corner and the road goes somewhere else completely, and you feel locked into using that road. Another problem those games had was there not being enough of a reason to just cruise around and learn your way around. The colourful GPS in TDU1 showing a birds eye view of terrain was also instrumental in remembering where you were. Ibiza was harder to learn due to it's simple GPS and weird road network. Good to hear Playground games have worked on Colin McRae games and have dirt road experience, but they also made the first DiRT game and those physics weren't very good. The gameplay of that Viper in FH showed it sliding a little bit, whereas I would expect that car to get much to require more effort to break traction (wide tyres) and then be a fair bit more tail happy. Maybe they weren't in "Simulation" handling mode. No doubt one of the FM4 handling modes is also "pick up and play".
20. I can put a poll in this thread if you want. Although I'm going to bed soon so ask another mod if I'm gone
21. I was watching a gameplay video earlier on my phone and then thought, hang on those streets look like the old MW, this must be a video of NFS World that some moron made just to get some views. Maybe I was wrong and MW won't be quite as interesting in the discovery sense
22. One build once turned on Stability control without me knowing. I first noticed the lights glowing when in karts but thought it might always be on for those, but the next race in cars had it as well which slowed me down a lot.
23. Here's a cool one - some guys made a film (or 2), then projected it/them onto various surfaces and recorded the projection:
24. The old NFS games worked better with a wheel for a start, and even when using a keyboard it felt more like you were driving cars instead of piloting pod-racers. I don't mind if EA want to make games for a "new generation of gamers" (basically 8 year olds) but that doesn't mean they should completely ignore the generation that made them rich and famous to start off with. The Run handling was a step up from HP 2010 and Burnout Paradise (where the physics were ok since they were all fake cars anyway), so hopefully they keep progressing in the right direction with MW. We never complained if car games were too hard when we were young, and even if they were it made those games more fun to come back to years later and finally complete them. Todays games seem to have a built in expiration date though.
