How not to Deliver an Aston Martin

On the rare occasion that an Aston Martin passes into view, it's impossible not to look. Its exquisite sheet metal has a way of making the world a better place, which is why the picture above is so damn painful. We don't have many details regarding exactly how this gorgeous Aston Martin V8 Vantage ended up at a 45-degree angle, but we're pretty sure that's going to show up on CarFax. A quick look at the blacktop beneath the $120,000 supercar reveals that a piece of the truck's loading equipment simply snapped off, resulting in... well...

 

Considering that the owner loved this Vantage enough to have it shipped via a covered carrier (and likely waited months for the right to buy it) you get an idea of just how upset he or she is right about now. Actually, looking at the photo, we can see that the gentlemen responsible for unloading the Aston don't look too pleased either. Thanks for the tip, Cosmin.

As to the Aston, well it'll be a new ...

 

Rear bumper skin

Rear section of exhaust

possible realignment of rear underbody (rear longitudinals and back panel)

and by the looks of things new boot mech as the boot has popped !

 

Shouldn't be too expensive to replace

 

as to who will pay for it ... the delivery companies insurers as they'll have big time insurance for if something gets damaged in transit

well something broke the silver part of the lift/ramp clean free ... could be too much weight from the car in the wrong place

Saying that if it goes back to AML to be fixed, would I be right in thinking it wwould be on the vehicles history as accident damaged?? who wants that on a new Aston I wouldn't.

To those wondering what is going to happen to this poor car, I have some bad news. Normal practice for new cars that are being delivered is that if they suffer more than $1200 worth of damage before the owner takes possession of the vehicle, it is scrapped and a new one sent out. This eliminates a new car having a crash history, and the possibility that more damage than was seen is waiting in the vehicle to arise at a later date. So unfortunately this Aston is probably destined for the crusher.

Mistakes happen. People who deliver cars can be idiots thogh. Someone once had a Carrera GT delivered (2 but thats beside the point) and the instructions we're to lift the car off, the people drove it off, destoyed the clutch on both cars.
