Actually the black hole kinda holds our galaxy together, as well as all other galaxies in the universe. Didn't u know that every galaxy, including ours, has one giant black hole right at its center? Without them we all will be lost, aimlessly wandering through the Space...:dontcare:

to be honest it's interesting, but i have little interest in it, no matter what the human race does it will not be able to stop the black hole. global warming is a concern cause things can and will be done, the LHC (shock horror, still hasn't blown us all up) is within our control too. astrophysics are a bit meh for me.

Er, what?

The black hole is the "gravity"-ish of the universe, think of it that way and it becomes easier to understand.

 

Just imagine life without gravity, your steak and mash you were gonna have for lunch would be halfway up to space right now! :D
