License Plate - TDU 505 ?

What does the 505 on the license plates mean? Is this the 5th version of the game or is 505 leet for SOS or... what?

That makes sense. I wish though that Eden had put a feture like in MC:LA where you can make your own plate. Mine would be 2FAST4U:D

A date? Well, that's hella lame. I'm with Nismo on this one; it would've been cool to be able to change it. Or it at least should change itself to reflect your progression in the game.

I did? I don't remember that, the original screens/renders showed the plate as NCX 999 also.

I've also read somewhere, Wikipedia maybe, that it stands for May 2005 when the first announcements about the game came out.
