Well the engineering is one thing, but where on earth do they fit in BMW's model line-up?? The 5GT is basically a cross between the 5-series estate and X5 and X6, but with neither the practicality of the estate or perceived off-road ability of the X models. What point does it serve?

The reson of having a car like the X6 or as this 5GT is to show the peaple around you that "I have a lot of money". But you are correct in that it is a mix of 2 different moddels and that was still a slight default...

 

BUT! :D

 

Whats the point in having supercars then? They drink a lot of fuel, they are not practical, they are often big, they make noise (good noise but still), They cost a lot, hard to drive in city enviroments and the list goes on.

Supercars don't have back seats, the don't want to take you from A to B in maximum comfort with maximum luggage space. They are made to raise your pulse, make your head explode and your thingy to nurse a semi. Those are two very very very different things : luxury cars and supercars. You can't really say that the X1 has a point, cause a LP640 doesn't. Hence, that's why more and more rich people have both a luxury car and a sports car, cause you can't have both in one. ;)
