The photos aren't working if you go check them in the folder where they're saved, so you have to view them ingame and then use fraps or something similar to take a pic (and when you view them ingame it has that text).

Ye they encrypted photo's because they will also stand in connection with MyTDUHouse so you can put them on the walls. Encrypting the photo's was a quick way to prevent people from putting unwanted content in their houses where others also see it.
