V8 Conversion

You guys probably don't know, but I have an old '92 Volvo 240 Wagon. Now it's not the fastest car around, in fact, it is actually rather slow. There's plenty of room in the engine bay so I figured I'd chuck a V8 in there. Finally got round to finishing it all today, but I really haven't noticed any real improvement in performance. Probably not the best place to ask, but any ideas on what exactly I've done wrong?:o

Pretty much brand new. Someone had removed all the fluids from it though...;)

It's a 1.5L V8. Got it from my brother, not sure where he got it from.:D
