just got my fastest ever lap on blackwood in an XRG

 

just did a 20 lap race against another XRG, 2 XFGs and 2 UF1000s on quick setting and won it (great race, learned the track well now and the lapping of the UF's was mental! i've improved like mad!) Best thing is that I used to only scrape the 1:40 - 1:41s but in that race i had numerous fast laps including...

 

1:37.97 - XRG - [Hard Track] Setting

Nice one Who :), You will improve a lot more with a better setup, I mean the hard track setting is alright, then you move onto the race s setup which is quicker. Then you maybe download a hotlap setup and then tweak it (which I done), or start from scratch and do your own setup.

 

Also, i'm guessing you mean Blackwood GP forward and not reverse ?

Because if you were wanting Blackwood GP Reverse then my video a few posts back might be helpful on braking points and lines. I might host a private server so you can join, and study/drive round with me to help you maybe ?

That offer goes to anyone, i'm not the fastest on LFS but I might be able to help get up to a reasonable pace ;). If I was to hotlap then I think I would be around 20-30 on the hotlap rankings on most tracks.

yeah, it was forward :) obviously there's still room for improvement, i'm only just getting used to the G25 still, the gated shifter is responsible for alot of spins! (and knackered engines when shifting from 4th to 3rd instead of 5th on the back straight)

 

it's great knowing the limits of the car now, as i can actually regain control when the tail slips out! (which is something i could never do)

 

At this point in time I think I know both Blackwood and Fern Bay Gold like the back of my hand!

Regarding the between 20-30 hotlap ranking, very few people actually hotlap, even fewer meet the HLVC requirements. :) Getting in the top 10 for the hotlap boards takes very little time and effort, getting close to the actual WR time, is harder. Getting close to the actual fastest time, is even more difficult. You can have a PB that is faster than the WR, and still not be on the hotlap boards, (like me ;)) simply cos you didn't use the hotlap mode.

Yeah it's unfortunate that most people don't hotlap as it would give a better result of where my laptimes compare (very low). When I race online there are people that are quicker than me running current WR pace each lap (always seems to be XFG's) so i'm easily not the fastest, i'm still miles off.

 

If they had a PB system so, say you do a PB lap in a race then it would be added to a chart like the hotlap one. Perhaps you can help me go faster Nipper :cheeky:. Anyway, offer still stands or you can download some hotlap replays and check them out to help.

I really want LFS, But the demo takes forever to download. Wish i had the cash for the full version. The Gymkhana track rules. It's identical to Ken Blocks. :D

 

Can you re-skin on the Demo version? Can you add custom race-tracks also?

I do believe you can re-skin the cars but you can't upload them to lfsworld so that other people can see it online, and you can't add custom race-tracks (gymkhana or full race tracks).

 

And thanks to Koenig and SuperhyperTDU :), and Koenig, the steering wheel helps loads ;).
