Rainbow Six: Vegas

How good is this game!! The multiplayer is in a different league to different games of the same genre. I'm usually on it with a few of the TWR guys, but sometimes I go off and play a bit of Attack & Defend. I dont like the single player that much. It bores me a little.

And also on the subject of RSV, there's a new map & game mode pack coming out sometime next month.

Info:

Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest videogame publishers, today announced the full list for the upcoming release of Player’s Pack Red Edition, an all new downloadable content (DLC) package coming up for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six ® Vegas, exclusively for the Xbox 360™, video game and entertainment system. Scheduled to be available via the Xbox LIVE! ® Marketplace at the end of March, this premium content package will enrich and extend the original game by allowing players to continue with five more playable multiplayer maps and two new game modes. More information regarding the upcoming Player’s Pack Red Edition content for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas will be announced in the near future. Until then, take a look below for an outline of content this update consists of:

Three Brand New MP Adversarial Maps: Three brand new MP maps are included for a brand new Vegas multiplayer experience.

* Doscala Restaurant – This well known Italian restaurant is located in the heart Las Vegas, near the famous Fremont Street.

* Marshalling Yard – This century-old service yard is situated in the center of an industrial district. Still active today, it is primarily used to store cars, but is also equipped with cleaning and maintenance facilities.

* Roof - A Coffee Factory has been overrun in the continuing gang violence that is wreaking havoc in this border town. The strategic positioning of the factory makes it highly desirable to control, making it a focal point of the violence.

Two Revisited; Relit MP Adversarial Maps: Two favorite Rainbow Six Vegas MP maps are revisited and relit for a new gameplay experience.

* Border Town – Redux

* Killhouse - Redux

Two New Modes: Two all new game modes that can be played in the 10 original maps and the five new maps add upon Vegas’ long list of available game types.

* Assassination mode - The goal of the Attackers is to eliminate a high-value asset of the Defenders, who in turn will try to defend and escort the VIP to his extraction Zone.

* Total Conquest - This is a team-oriented, static control-point game mode where each map contains three “Mobile Radar Installations” (control points). To win, a team must activate and maintain control of at least one of the three Mobile Radar Installations locations for a given period of time.

Well I would rate it 9/10 all round, the single player is a lot of fun especially on Realistic and the online depending on what you're after is amazing fun but please don't become one of the many losers who want as many points as possible so that they can dress their dolls as they like. Play the game and have fun and the ranks will fly at you.

I'm a 1st or 2nd Lieutenant (1 silver bar) and am on my fifth bar to becoming whatever 2 bars is and I've been playing the game off and on for 6 weeks.

List of Updates coming. Thanks to NWA TA's site http://www.xboxbox.com for the details! I personally can't wait but there are one or two things that look wrong:(

Popping in your copy of Rainbow Six: Vegas will net you a rather nice patch that fixes multiple bugs and glitches found within the game online. It’s an extensive list, with the update also balancing some of the weapons to make for a fairer game. Full details after the jump.

The whole list is as follows:

Bug Fixes

  • Optimized the network replication of custom faces. You should see everyone’s custom face much faster in an online match.
  • Fixed a bug where you can get stuck on a ladder in Border Town.
  • Grenades no longer go through walls.
  • Fixed the sound loop on weapons.
  • Observers no longer cause a Team Unbalance penalty on experience points.
  • Fixed a crash related to throwing an incendiary grenade and then quickly using your snake cam before it exploded.
  • Leaderboards are now correctly updating results from ranked matches.
  • Fixed a bug where you could lose your weapon.
  • Killing terrorists with incendiary grenades now works correctly in Terrorist Hunt.
  • C4 explosives are now properly seen by clients when placed on moveable objects.
  • Players are now vulnerable to grenades when using mounted weapons.
  • Fixed bugs related to the Survivor and Special Operations achievements.
  • Host can no longer kick players once the match has started. Players can only be kicked in the lobby, or automatically kicked by excessive team-killing.

Gameplay Tweaks

The weapons have been rebalanced based on the feedback you’ve given us. Thank you for your patience and continued support in making Rainbow Six Vegas the great multiplayer game that it is. Without further delay, here are the changes we’ve brought to the weapons:

Sub Machine Guns

  • SMGs are now less lethal at long ranges. The damage they do at long range has been reduced in order to bring them more in line with how this type of gun should behave. SMGs remain very lethal at short to medium range.

Assault Rifles

  • Assault Rifles are now where we wanted them to be. They’re more maneuverable than before and you can more accurately take aim at your target. The Assault Rifles excel at medium to long range when fired in short controlled bursts.

Light Machine Guns

  • The amount of recoil when firing light machine guns has been significantly reduced, therefore making them much more accurate than before. This weapon excels when fired from a stationary position. It’s not meant to be a very manuverable weapon.

Shotguns

  • Damage at long range has been reduced for shotguns. However, they’re still extremely lethal at short range.

Sniper Rifles

  • Sniper Rifles have gotten the attention they deserve. Sniper Rifles are more accurate and benefit from an increase in damage. The key to being successful with a sniper rifle is to remain stationary when aiming at your target.

Gadgets

  • Frag Grenade: The explosive radius of the fragmentation grenade has been slightly reduced.
  • GPS Device: The scanning radius of the GPS has been slightly reduced, along with the number of uses it has.

The online part just got a whole lot better

It’s a long list of much needed fixes, and one that will be welcomed by all the fans. Still touted as the best Live experience to date, it will be interesting to see how people fair with the new weapon balance. The patch has been Live for a while, so let us know how you find it now.

This update is a week old now, took Ubi only 24 hours to post it up on their board though which is very cool plus they listened to their community and also are still asking them about what could still be done.
What so it's on the marketplace right now? Damn I missed it!

Not the DLC as that's out later in the month but the actual patch is available yeah and the Assault Rifles are much better, the MP9 and MP7A1 are not so dominant anymore and Shotguns cannot shoot long range as accurate as they used to. Makes online so much better, oh yeah Sniper rifles scope fast and are accurate now, it's great taking the Package carrier out in the final 3 seconds to win the game at Calypso Casino. (did it 2 nights ago, the guy was livid but gave me mucho respect).
