The official website of the game has posted the PC Specs for the game in three tiers of Minimum, Recommended and Optimal, with 'Optimal' being noted as allowing players to run the game at 60 FPS. So is it time for you to upgrade the innards of your system, have a look below and see.

 

Note: The Crew ONLY SUPPORTS 64-bit Operating Systems

 

In order to check if your graphics hardware will provide you with an optimal experience in The Crew on PC, you can run the NVIDIA GPU ANALYZER.

Operating System: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64bit)

Processor: Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.5 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6 GHz (or better)

RAM: 4GB

Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 or AMD Radeon HD4870 (512MB VRAM with Shader Model 4.0 or higher)

DirectX: DirectX June 2010 Redistributable

Sound: DirectX Compatible Sound Card with latest drivers

Peripherals: Keyboard required, XBOX 360 controller optional (or compatible controller)

NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 or better, GTX400, GTX500, GTX600, GTX700, GTX900 series;

AMD Radeon HD4870 or better, HD5000, HD6000, HD7000, R7 and R9 series;

 

Latest tested nVidia driver: GeForce 340.52 for all DX10 NVIDIA cards (GTX200) and 344.48 for all DX11 NVIDIA cards (GTX400 – GTX900).

 

Latest tested AMD driver: Catalyst 13.1 for HD4000 series and Catalyst 14.9 for all other Radeon cards.

 

The Crew requires that a driver more recent than 14.6 is installed for Windows 7 and 8/8.1. Performance issues may arise when using inferior versions of the video driver (14.4 and below) on these operating systems.

Laptop correspondent models of the above desktop specifications as well as newer CPU and Video Cards, may work but have not been exhaustively tested.

Just announced the other day was that XP OS Share is down to 17%, so the majority of gaming PCs will be on Win 7 and as such you'd expect a 64-bit simply to make use of all the RAM.

 

Also there's good data available from the Steam hardware surveys. We're definitely at a point where studios can drop XP/DX9 support for AAA titles.

 

 

I assume your driver note above relates to AMD/ATi as the nVidia drivers are into the hundreds.

I'm gonna need some upgrading, only running Windows 7 in 32bit. Got a tax return coming but I was hoping to spend it on my car, maybe it'll end up going on my pc instead. Then again, dunno if that's worth it as I barely play any games anymore, haven't even touched Horizon 2 for a few weeks
