Iced_Bullet: Constantly Thick Mists [Tutorials]

In this series of threads, I'm listing and giving tutorials on how to improve your game-play. These are not instructions, or officially related to Atari in any way. They are tutorials created by me, for the sole purpose of giving you the chance to improve your gameplay.

 

I take no responsibility in your game going corupt or damaged. I cannot be help responsible for damages to game files or profiles. However this is highly unlikely to happen ;)

 

Anyway, on with the tutorials of Environmental changes ...

 

Make sure you back up everything, unless you want to have to reinstall TDU when you decide the mist doesn't look as good.

Installation Instructions

Download the files in the links below and replace the files within:

 

'C:\Program Files\Atari\Test Drive Unlimited\Euro\Bnk\FX'

 

Remember to remove the '50_' etc from the file names. These extra codes were added so they could be hosted on the same site :)

Misty Mod Vision: (v2.4) [iced_Bullet]

HDR NOT Suported with my version of Mist as of yet!

 

This is constant thick mist and will not lift at any point of driving. Thanks for Detress for the original files which I modded, and also the brainwave to create the mist :D

- It will take upto a few hours for this change in the enviornment to occur, so be patient.

You could always make the mist change distance regually or unregually. Which can be don easily. I think you're smart enough to work out how ;)

iced. i have the night mod installed, and it improves the daytime effect also. i'm sick of the night mod now, is there anyway mod just to keep the new daytime effects?

Well in the weather.ini folder ... in each weather section, it says:

Fod End = 70m

 

What you could do is change lots of them to 80, 100, 120 etc etc That way it would go to different lengths.

Urm ... I havn't looked at the night mod itself, BUT, in the weather.ini there should be some options for sky colour, and under the night weather sections, change it to the code which has been used for day time.

Ive downloaded night mod, then days later Ive downloaded mist mod sepretely, will I have both?

Well, it depdns if you made a backup of the night mod. You cannot have both on TDU at the same time, unless you download the specific night and Mist mod ...
