  1. Hi there DirtySprite, welcome to the :duck:. Are all electrical engineers always so happy like you? :D
  2. I am in love with that blue BMW. And the bike looks kick-ass too!
  3. Project CARS March DLC The teasing of what is to come next to Project CARS this March has started with some images being posted on the official instagram of the game. The first of these shows an outside the window shot from "the next free car", which seemingly from some noticeable clues such as the door and mirror shape, door opener, yellow pullover fabric strap and probably the most telling - the AMG branding on the bottom, signals that this will be the oft-rumoured Mercedes-AMG GT3 finally making its appearance. Next up is something we only recently learned about due to the announcement of the Project CARS Game of the Year Edition coming out this Spring. And if this next car is what we believe it to be then it's a real gem of an offering as despite them trying their best to conceal it, there's one image available online (thanks GTspirit) where working out what it is becomes easy and this is because it shows off all the branding the car had on it before it was removed for some reason. It is this edition that SMS appears to have recreated for the game when modelling the Pagani Zonda Revolucion. It's entirely possible that the March DLC will be that of what is to come with the GOTY edition, along with the addition of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 to keep up the 'a free car every month' that has become commonplace. There was talk of March's DLC being a "track pack" and two of them being mentioned but maybe this was just a cloak and dagger way of keeping the Nürburgring GP + Nordschleife guessing away.
  4. It feels like there is a price on Camel's head, but there isn't!
  5. The current Mustang is a great looking car and it is certainly priced well for what it offers. If it was my money and I had to pick something I would be more inclined to look into a Subaru WRX STI first and then probably this. I've just always been a sucker for Scoobys!
  6. DRIVECLUB March DLC Evolution Studios show no sign of slowing down in bringing more desirable content to DRIVECLUB with the upcoming release of two new Expansion Packs and a free for everyone Aprilia superbike, later this month on March 22nd. In fact, if anything they just keep upping the bar in what they manage to source and get out for their players. Case in point of the Koenigsegg Regera that is coming, along with a Jaguar XJ220 in what is being labelled the "Finish Line" Expansion Pack. The pairing of these two is quite appropriate in my opinion as of their time they were some of the fastest and slipperiest looking cars out. The XJ220 held the record of the world's fastest car for a short while when it recorded 212 mph at the Nardo test track before the McLaren F1 came along and blew everything away. Whereas the Regera hasn't as far as we know actually had a speed officially recorded, it is predicted to top 270 mph and if there is one Koenigsegg have in spades, it is proof that their cars are capable of reaching their claimed numbers. As is the case with these Expansion Packs it is not just the cars alone that you will get for your money; you also get 6 new events and 5 trophies to achieve. For the speed freaks of the two-wheeled variety, there's more machinery from MV Agusta making its way into DRIVECLUB BIKES. If Ducati are the Ferrari of bikes then they are the Lamborghini and you can see why with the forthcoming "MV Agusta" Expansion Pack . Stunning looks, crazy sounds and prices that make them pure luxuries and near enough pieces of art. (I may be slightly bias though, as I absolutely adored the MV Agusta F4 Tamburini in the old Test Drive Unlimited game) Whatever you feel, it is just great to see more new manufacturers coming into the game and one as iconic as this is a real triumph. The free stuff hasn't dried up either, as a free superbike in way of the Aprilia RSV4 RF ABS will be available to everyone on the same date as those above. And I personally cannot wait to see the photo mode pics that people capture of the new cars and bikes. If you have some yourself then jump on our forums and share them with us!
  7. DRIVECLUB Drift March The March update for DRIVECLUB is out and Evolution Studios continue to better the racer by bringing the changes and requests of their playerbase to the game. Beginning with the big change that 1.27 will bring, is that Drift scoring is much improved, points awarded will actually now make sense and will require the fundamental techniques of drifting in order to get that score shooting up. There will be no more bending the rules as if you were Neo in the Matrix, as driving slow, using your vehicle as some sort of lawnmower or using the walls will result in a penalty. Therefore, you will need to have the angle, speed and preferably stay on the black stuff in order to get a good mark from the virtual judges. Accompanying this radical change of the scoring system is a reset of all Drift Mode leaderboards to ensure a level playing field race course for all involved. Driver, Club and Elite Levels have been given another stretching too, taking the caps for Driver and Club to 120 and Elite to 60, with Elite and Club also having new livery rewards that can be unlocked as players progress. One of the smaller but very cool things Evo do is feature community taken photo mode pictures within the game's menus. This time they've went one step further and created a monster collage using thousands of #PS4share images for the loading screen of both DRIVECLUB and DRIVECLUB BIKES. DRIVECLUB UPDATE 1.27 changelog: New Drift Mode scoring: Fast and precise drifts now earn much bigger scores. Going off track, driving slowly or colliding with walls will result in a penalty to prevent exploits. All Drift Mode leaderboards will be reset in the days following the update to ensure they offer a level playing field. 25 new Elite Levels have been added (new cap is 60). 25 new Driver Levels have been added (new cap is 120) with new livery rewards to unlock along the way. 35 new Club Levels have been added (new cap is 120) with new livery rewards to unlock along the way. The game menus have been updated with new ‪#‎PS4share‬ imagery to showcase some of our most loved #PS4share photo mode snaps. Keep them coming! The loading screen for DRIVECLUB now shows off an awesome new #PS4share community photo collage made up of thousands of your pictures. The loading screen for DRIVECLUB BIKES also shows off an awesome new #PS4share community photo collage made up of thousands of your pictures. Includes general improvements for game performance, stability and usability. The update (0.3GB) is available now and will download automatically when launching the game while connected to PSN. 8. Sport the turboduck A number of us here on turboduck backed the crowd-funded Slighty Mad Studios project that ended up as Project CARS, and one of those 'us' in particular was Ryzza. With more money than sense he became a Manager and this entitled him to have his own advertising board (it's on Brands Hatch) and car livery in the finished game. And incredibly he gave this honour to us! Back in 2014 in a select area of our community there were talks and discussions going on where the conceptualising of a vision was taking place, and the one bringing the suggestions and imaginings of those talks to digital life was Milli - a graphics/product designer who naturally took to the task like a turboduck takes to goat washing. (that means really well) The initial decision was for the type of car to have the livery shown on and there were many opinions voiced, starting off with a BMW Z4 that was quickly dismissed due to already being used by some, then it was a flurry of proposals for those not even in the game and then somehow Ry started playing with a RUF. And despite some initial reservations and the solo mentioning of using a 'beetle' this was the car we started to take seriously for the task. Within a short time concepts started to show, as Milli using her talent would take what we were picturing and describing to greater heights, continuing to impress us with every update she dropped. As the game's development progressed, more and more vehicles became available to use for 'painting' and with it being Ry's perk, the ultimate final decision on which car we go with would be down to him entirely. Through the gentle persuasion of others, the choosing to swap to an Aston Martin was made, and from then it was all about that car. This was fine and again Milli did her magic, making the livery fit onto the Aston and it was looking good. Unfortunately right at the death of submission, a slight issue reared its head, only found when one of the latest builds was downloaded and it was discovered that, shall we say the proper livery we all had come up with was... tweaked. And that was it, it was done for all we knew. Jump forward to this month with the US Racecar Pack and the update alongside it becoming available and the original vision is properly out there for all platforms and players to raise their eyebrows at. Realise our delight as we picture the confused expressions forming on faces as they ponder what the hell is 'goat washing since 2007' and who on earth are the Squirrel Mafia and why do they appear to own a security firm. What once we thought had been lost has arisen and come back! Thank-you Ryzza, Milli and SMS for allowing this to happen!! Accompanying the turboduck RUF is also a BAC Mono in our SEVEN colours. SEVEN is the name of our current style you can see on our site and forum with the red, white and blue colour scheme. The turboduck imagery doesn't end there either: we also have a very small logo on the #98 Ginetta G55 GT4, put there by our very own superhyper who designed that one. And lastly as mentioned very briefly above, we also have our mascot and name emblazoned on an advertising boarding on the Brands Hatch circuit. Why not see if you can find it? 9. It's nothing to do with not liking, it's all to do with just making sure you are not using the work of others if they don't permit it is all. If the mod author says you can reuse their work then by all means go ahead, but if they say otherwise, then sorry you'll need to find another or do the extraction and fitting work yourself.
  10. It's coming along well it seems and I like the curved table. Gives the impression of a sort of enclosure. You got space for a third monitor too I think! :smig:
  11. This is true and that is why modding is such a grey area. The fact these companies don't come after modders or ask for their stuff to be removed is not a testament that they allow this, in fact as we have been told ourselves directly: it is more a "turning a blind eye" to it. If there's one thing we've found throughout the years of Modding, it's that a locked or closed model can still be gotten to (maybe newer software has changed this I don't know). It's why we have implemented different rules over the years that were not there before. And sure you can convert all the models you like, but this community like most on the internet, is a privately run and owned establishment and our rules prohibit these types of mods from being posted and that takes precedence. You are absolutely right. This is a legal grey area as I said, and it's completely in the rights of companies to go after those who extract and convert their intellectual rights from games by way of modding, but a number of them don't. And those modders who do the work of making the models and elements 'fit for purpose' also have a right of their work not being taken too. It's not a legal or copyright thing, just a sign of respect is all. As I've already said: you can do what you want with what is available to you and post them as you see fit on the places that allow it, but our stance is, to respect the work of the original, in whatever form it comes about. If you cannot abide by this or don't feel it's right in your opinion then I am sorry to hear that.
  12. UNKNOWN credits are not permitted any more. Also make sure you post using the Mod Posting Template.
  13. Template updated slightly to remove items that were superfluous to requirements and to put a note that the proper credit must be given to have your mod be able to be posted here from the date of this very post onwards. Any updates made to previous mods will need to follow this from now on also. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS COMPLETELY WILL RESULT IN YOUR THREAD BEING REMOVED
  14. According to that creator's website the use of his mods is not allowed and the linking of them is only permitted on certain listed sites. We specify that the credits for the mod, model and its elements must be stated and that permission is sought if required to try and avoid these instances arising - if you don't have these don't post your mod here. Due to this and some other occurrences of recent it seems we need to lock down the rules for the posting of mods even more and enforce the proper use of the Mod Posting Template as some of the message still isn't getting through and isn't making us look good.
  15. That is sweet! -500pts for Comic Sans usage though. :D
  16. Mario Kart Was Super In this new series I have decided to start, I will talk about the games I have been fortunate enough to play in my time spent on this planet, the memories associated with them and the epic, annoying and downright did that just happen! moments experienced with them. One such game I will always favour and keep in my heart is Mario Kart, or more so Super Mario Kart. I never had a Super Nintendo (or Famicon) myself but my cousins did and when we would visit and were not outside having a kick-about we would be on this. Annoyingly my cousins were quite amazing with the game and were also very competitive, and I mean very competitive. They would get angry if it was looking like they would lose and sometimes the temper tantrums they would exact would be a reason alone to want to finish before them. Despite this, the best times were always the split-screen races with them. When you were watching for the wee dude hovering on the cloud with the lights ready to signal GO, this was always a nudging each other in the ribs and putting your hand over the other person's eyes moment - yes, sportsmanship went out of the window when it came to Mario Kart races. During the race itself it was of course always frantic - whether it was watching for those damn banana skins, avoiding getting squashed when hit by a lightning bolt, trying not to collect yourself with that green shell you fired earlier (that has been ricocheting back-and-forth ever since), revelling in the glory of a red shell hit or feeling invincible when you had found a 'Star'. The game was a purely joyous affair, excelling in just raw Nintendo fun for those who were playing and providing challenges due to not only what your opponents could do to you, but also how the environments were designed. Shortcuts for example were great if executed properly, but a lot of the time they were difficult to carry out and would have you losing places or even the race itself, due to a small oversight or too much speed that resulted in sending you over the edge or too far out (damn you Ghost Valley jump!). Environments as you would expect came in many flavours, some of the more memorable for myself was the: Mario Circuits, Ghost Valleys (hated these), Bowser Castles, Koopa Beaches and no way could I forget Rainbow Road. The others I didn't really care for or were not fond of my remembering but if you happened to like them then good for you, we all have our own preferences and if they are special to you then by all means take my dismissal of them not to heart. If anything, I just sucked at them so you were no doubt better than me. Another aspect that made the game one of my all-time favourites was the music and sound effects. Mario has always been known for its great selection of music that accompanies the different areas of its worlds and this spin-off was no different - you knew what the environment was without even needing to see it, as they all had their own theme. It got you pumped up during the action too, especially when it came to the last lap and intensified by speeding up and in doing so putting the pressure on you to make up places or keep your lead. If you were a nervous player this alone was enough to force you to make a mistake, never mind all that was going on behind you. Then there was the sound effects, I can still hear some of them in my head now as I reminisce about those days. That random spinning sound before the little 'ding-ding-ding' that signified what you had been given as a mystery item to help you progress through the grid, the spun on a banana identifier, the little 'boing' noise when hopping your kart through turns or trying to cut corners and the whistle when you crossed the finish line. It was all so well done. Put all that together and you had a complete Princess Peach of a game. If you want to see if I am nuts about this game for the right reasons then go and find yourself an old Super Nintendo/Famicon and a copy of the game for yourself. Alternatively, one of the great things about the internet is that a lot of these titles are now available to play in your web browser. I leave the decision of which flashing rainbow coloured road you go down, to you. Feel free to share your own rose-tinted gaming moments with us on our forums.
  17. The flashback was tough sure, but I didn't find anywhere I needed to have that weapon on me. It would have made what was to come easier yes, but not a necessity.
