TDU Corvette C6 (Z06) Sound mod By pdb
 
This mod is a direct replacement for either the C6 or Z06 corvettes
the parameters are as standard so no need to change rpm or rev limits
also included is a copy of my (drift missile) physics as used in the preview video the car is lowered
and ive tweaked the handling and also adjusted the gear ratio's slightly to fix the impossible 6th gear problem
these physics are purely optional and are not required for the sound to work
be warned its low mean and fast ;)
 
there are 3 versions of the sound
V1 is naturally aspirated
V2 is naturally aspirated with added rumble and backfire
V3 is a supercharged sound that bangs rumbles and pops
 
this is my first attempt at a supercharger its not perfect but i used real samples to make it

Truthfully , I really would love to share my DB with the community , it would be my way of giving back since I've learned and received so much from everyone here . Another thing , I don't want to be stepping on Tob's toes either, he's dedicated a lot of time and effort in this as well and if it wasn't for him , I wouldn't be doing this , big props to the modders as well .
 
I'm slowly trying to figure out a way , right now my DB is in a WIP stage because I'm using mostly existing Atari HUD files/file names . I'm having to use some of Atari's rims because I resize my rims to try to get them to factory-ish specs and they don't turn out on some so I have to swap them TDUPE, it's still a learning process ;) Also, a few of the mods I'm using aren't available anymore .
 
I promise, I'm working on it ... plus I'm up to 81 new slots right now and I never wrote down a single file name I used :rolleyes: , so I'll have some organizing to do ...

I also have a question to Haiku... :lol:
 
Do you plan in release your database? I mean, you can share your database, with a list of new slots file names, so people can download the cars themselves and just put them in the game. Doing that you avoid the modders permission to share their mods, as you're not sharing any mod at all, just a database "ready" for them.

I made a tool to retrieve the data of tire combinations in the dbdata.cpr.
When put in the same folder as the TDU2VPE it might be convenient. Please use if like this.
 
usage:
- Click "Read db" button to read out the tire combination data.
- When click the column header, you can sort in ascending or descending order by the values in that column.

How to Install ?
 
- Just extract "Euro" in your Test Drive Unlimited Folder. Replace all the files.
- Make a Backup of VehiculesSlots.xml in your TDU Modding Tools folder and another backup for Cardata in your TDUPE folder.
- Extract VehiculesSlots.xml in "xml" inside your TDU Modding Tools folder
- Extract carData in your TDUPE folder
- In TDU Modding Tools, Go to File > Settings and set the culture to US - English !!!
- In TDUPE, Go to Settings > Locality and set it to "US" !!!
 
- Launch the game. -> If it crash, in Bnk/Database, copy DB_US and rename it to the normal game language you normally use. Example: DB_FR, DB_CH or DB_GEDon't forget to set the game in English !
 
How to use this mod ?
 
- Just like the good old traditional way: replace the Bnks, Import your physics with TDUPE, adjust cool things with TDU Modding Tools. The new Bnk files have a "2_" or a "3_" in front of the rest of the file name. Example: 2_Enzo_I.bnk ; 2_A3_V6_F_01 ; 2_Gall_Cpe_I.bnk or 3_Gall_Cpe_I.bnk. You can use TDU Modding Tools function to replace the files too ;)
- If you're not happy with the Cars names, HUDs names and Rims names in TDUPE, feel free to edit the names in CarData.
 

 
- Important fact, Use TDU Modding Tools to install the new slots in the dealers

Hi to all! I gave this sound another visit to show everyone how my sound modding has improved over the past year. Several people have made pretty decent supra sounds, but none rev over 8 grand! Furthermore, I always enjoy comments and opinions by others so don't you dare NOT share! :) Enjoy everyone, and of course there will be more to come in the future! PS : If there is a car that you like, and you can find kickass quality vids with good sound (on throttle, camera by exhaust, near level tones); dont be afraid to message me. You might get lucky!
