  1. Looks very promising:D
  2. This would be awesome as well. Never understood why they didn't use the existing licenses for traffic cars. Maybe some of the TDU1 traffic mod cars can be converted too ;)
  3. Off course we'll be interested. Some mistakes the devs made are not only strange, but the follow up is considered insulting by a lot of players. Things like the gear mess on the Evora were NOT fixed with the next patch, even if there was an extensive feedback list on the old forum, forwarded by GMJahia. If you leave stuff like that in place, you have no pride in your work IMO. Same goes for stupid holes in cockpits and other stuff like offset wheels. I recently made a CRC with the Ferrari 250GTO, so i know exactly what you mean by the bouncing. But the F40 and GTO are also some of the few cars that actually drive well (except the bouncing part). Curb kicks, bottoming out cars and stuff like that have been there since the beginning. Sliding uncontrolled in 4wd cars and locking brakes are annoying too. It would be great if something like the Community Patch would continue with these physics features added. The Nissan 370z would make an excellent drift car. Adding more cars with new car slots would be awesome as well. It would surely open up the game. Only thing missing is the option to create a complete new location. Combine the best drivers roads in the world and wrap it up in an awesome new Island. Could be cool:cool: I think what is important, is that efforts support each other and not do the same thing twice. It seems like a lot of work already, but i still think TDU2 has even more Modding potential than TDU1.
  4. Great news  Can you edit the uncontrolled sliding and locking brakes? And access the FFB files? And please take a look at fixing the default handling too. H-mode can be fun but more for a snow and ice mod. I like cars to drive more real. And a lot of players do too. Don't worry about those noob cheaters. TDU2 is stuffed with them anyway. Talking about motivational speeches, lol :D  PS What is that digital Fly doing on my screen
  5. 1. Make backups of your save game on a regular base. Especially after finishing an achievement or winning a big prize. You can find the save game in your Documents/Eden Games folder. 2. Maybe you got some defect memory module or something. Blue screens are not healthy. Run some tests to see where the errors occur. If it is strictly TDU2 related, you might want to reinstall the game. 3. Casino is being operated by the Atari mob. So don't be surprised they take all your money:D
  6. Very nice:lol:
  7. Very cool to see it is actually possible to mod the driving dynamics of TDU2. One of the points that keep a lot of players from playing it more often or playing it at all. It would be more helpful IMO to try to fix some of the basic flaws in the handling, like the uncontrolled sliding or the locking brakes. Especially 4WD cars seem to suffer from it. Much more important than to try to recreate the HC mode from TDU1. That handling option could be a nice addition to a snow and ice setup. Especially the feedback is still something that needs attention. Both FFB and audio (tire squeal and screams). Good handling also starts with good control. Feedback is a large part of that. And than there is the possibility you will be banned for tempering with the files, even if these modifications you show do not bring any advantage in races. I wish you good luck figuring out the handling and with this HC2 mode, but also hope you will take a look at the basic flaws in the handling. PS Atari has confirmed to me that there are no official confirmed plans to release new content soon® They are also placed on a complete standstill as long as the legal stuff has not been solved. All they do now is keep the servers alive. It would have been nice if they would have given some sort of statement about any future plans or change in attitude towards TDU2 modding in general.
  8. I'm glad you're not..:D Just thanks to all modders
  9. Eden Games didn't just change, they closed shop (since 1st of march). It is indeed ashame the full potential of this concept is not reached. That doesn't mean another development team can't do it. Maybe the Ivory Tower game will bring some of the original TDU vibe back. There is a lot of stuff going on around Atari ATM. Maybe something good for the TDU franchise will come from that. Who knows.
  10. You can always try to do the UCD trick. Buy a tuned car and sell it again. Do some serious Frimming. A lap around Oahu brings you an easy 100K, take a slower car and keep at max speed. Find a rich friend who will make a nice private CRC for you Do some ranked races (although if you have troubles with the licenses...) as long as you do not finish last you will get some money. Finish the Solar Crown, re-do some 20K races Raise your stakes for instant challenges (not wise if you totally fail in races) If you got the casino, money is easy. Plenty of ways to make some serious cash in TDU2:cool:
  11. In this case a calculated "risk" i think. These guys have proven themselves with some cool titles. And UbiSoft was not involved right from the start. So any "interference" on game dynamics will probably be minimized. Atari dumbed TDU2 down, that part is clear to me. I don't think this team at Ivory Tower will let that happen. After all, they are still independent and use UbiSoft for the publishing. One thing i do hope they will incorporate is the club or team racing. I really enjoy doing that in TDU2. Still a few times a week we take on other teams and it is much more fun than individual racing. But most important are the driving dynamics. We'll see what happens at the E3.
  12. The white van? have to check that out... I found some Q&A with Nadal on the IMDB site Makes me wonder what happened to the drifting in TDU2, lol. If he likes that so much why the complete mess up? I know that game and it was indeed a very cool arcade racer for PC. Some little bird once told me Nadal programmed the physics engine for Vrally himself. The same engine was used as a base for the physics of TDU1. Add to that the n00b comment from Atari on Diablos remarks regarding the handling and a picture starts to emerge that sheds some alternative light on the development of TDU2. I don't think selling Eden to Atari turned out the way Nadal expected. It probably brought him some money, but if i'm right he was not in control of the TDU project anymore. At least it looks that way. The interference of some car companies in game dynamics and nerfing the physics are examples of it. On the other hand, he is also known for bragging about not listening to feedback from the Testers and Focus groups, confirmed by at least 3 devs. Maybe he should have shown the same attitude towards Atari executives who forced him to dumb down the game and introduce dinky driving dynamics. Or did he sell his pride with the company? Test Drive will continue. But Nadal will probably not be part of it anymore. Sad story. You need crazy people like him to pull a project like this off. If SMS will continue the legacy with TDU3 it will for sure improve the driving dynamics, but i don't know about gameplay or the real TDU vibe.
  13. It won't be TDU3 as the TDU franchise is used for something else... At least somebody thinks the franchise is worth something  And UbiSoft didn't acquire the rights to the TDU franchise (yet?) I'm really looking forward to the IvoryTower game though, as all key ingredients are there to make something good:cool:
  14. The Beetle? Nadal has been remarkably silent all this time, btw.
  15. Yes, i know ;) Love TDU1, but still like TDU2 TDU2 is a more advanced base to work with. More possibilities, more options. I know the tendency on this site is strongly biased towards TDU1 and for good reasons. But seeing through the shortcomings that TDU2 certainly has, it also has a lot more potential for improvements. Especially in the Physics department, but also in another community made location for example, or weather extensions (snowstorms like in skyrim ) And i really like Ibiza and the extended Oahu roads of TDU2. It is not just bad. Find a way to add car slots by using the DLC scripts and import every car from TDU1, fix the physics and you have a real winner IMO  We will see how long Atari will support TDU2 and if there ever will be another DLC released. Right now everything depends on a successful restart of the Atari US or sales of the TDU franchise to another publisher like UbiSoft. TDU1 will always be something special because it is an original. I really hope Speeder can pull this off. It's massive.
  16. You can ask why a Company like Atari does not use that Feedback. When a lot of customers complain about a product, but also give a very detailed description about what is wrong and even how to improve it, you should use that information to improve the product. Some companies pay top dollars for marketing studies and technical feedback like that. I like TDU1 too, always have because it is an original and also well balanced game. TDU2 is better in many ways. It has more roads, better roads, another Island, day night cycle, weather, better graphics etc. It only needs better physics to beat TDU1. So maybe it is better to use TDU2 to work with. Just my opinion. Bringing either one of them to an alternative server would be the bomb. No matter how you look at it. I will continue to follow this thread with great interest.
  17. That must be the statement of the year. IMO a car that handles realistic is more easy to drive than those Atari dinkys. Ever tried the Shelby Mustang on HC in the rain?, looool  There is 0 feedback. No sound, No movement and no FFB that is useful. Also there is no consistency so you have to gamble how fast you can take a corner. "Drivable", right. I still play TDU2 because i like the Club racing and the CRC challenges. But those physics.... On the other hand the physics of TDFRL are pretty good, lol. Much better than TDU1 and a lot of Sims. But i'm probably one of the few who actually bought that game:D
  18. Interesting project. Can you add car slots, so you do not have to swap them anymore? And than import all TDU2 cars and bikes, lol :D I don't really need weather options anyway. You can not do CRC half the time due to bad weather. What fun is that? Will LISA's be functional in one way or another? --- Post Updated --- It is worse. Even the Beta physics were better than the release ones. And also the basic wheel support was better. At least on my G25 back then. TDU2 doesn't have FFB for Fanatec CSW. I drive like a sim from the 80's now, lol. But TDU2 has more advanced physics. At least in the base. Only the layer of nerf that has been placed on top of it has to go. TDU1 had a very good combination of physics, controls and FFB. Obviously it takes devs who know what they are doing. That guy works at Ivory Tower now. The TDU2 physics dev should be sent to Syberia for a work ethics program I never understood why the Eden team didn't deliver on the physics. Most important part in a race game IMO.
  19. Why can't we make our own server? | turboduck forum Check this thread. Still no solution unfortunately.
  20. They better release whatever is already in a finished state. There are still people working on it, very slow:cheeky: We will see what happens after the separation of Atari US from the French mother company is completed. Maybe someone is clever enough to continue to support the TDU franchise or maybe it will get sold. IMO they should release everything they can. Why not? A LAN patch would be great too:cool:
  21. Nah, i only brake to hit an apex right or to avoid a collision. Cruising at 160-200kmh is much more fun imo. And off course the occasional flatout speed cruises ;) Suits the game much better
  22. You can check on Steam what kind of achievements there are. Just click on the achievements icon. In the game you can check your achievements like Robik said or go inside a home, click on the LapTop on your salon table and check out all options there. Good luck exploring all roads ;)
  23. Lol :D It is actually not that bad at all. Small track selection, but very nicely done cars combined with good driving physics and sounds. If SMS gets involved in an open world racer, it would surely be a drivers game. TDU3 or not.
  24. Creating your own server would be a brilliant idea. I don't really see Atari issues here, because 1. TDU is free for modding 2. They stopped supporting the game 3. You still need the original game to play Combining TDU1 and 2 would be the real challenge. Adding cars instead of swapping would be a start. Maybe there are still a few rogue devs around, who have a grudge against Atari and will drop some files anonymously:cheeky:
