    So, anyone excited for the Mk7 Golf R reveal in September? :) There's actually more good news down under here, thanks to the new Mercedes Hot Hatches, Audi has dropped $11,000 off the price of the new S3 due here in December, which is pretty much the current Golf R price, which means that'll have to be cheaper, which means the GTI will have to be cheaper. Win Win Win :D

    These have come quite aways from what I've been reading and there's now plenty of people out there with dev kits. Talk is these could be ready by the holiday season but 2014 seems like the safe bet at this stage. Some modders have been able to hack older games to work with this to varying levels of success (i.e. FSX, Minecraft, etc), and there are plenty of racing sim devs building support for it currently. Have a quick search on YouTube and if you find something you like post it here.

    So I went exploring far far away from casta del turboduck or whatever it's called, found another NPC village, and then couldn't be bothered flying back, so I decided to build a nether portal on the back of one of the NPC houses (since you can travel 8x faster in the nether). Only problem is I didn't know how to activate a portal (first tried putting a torch in there), then did a quick search and found out I need flint & steel, or I figured my ignition ring would do the trick. And it did. Also I burnt down 2 of the NPC houses :fp: Anyway I found a very nice location if anyone wants to start building again far away without having to lose their inventory. Maybe instead of secret tunnels we could have portals in every house and carve out a safe passageway in the nether for super-quick travel. Just remember ghasts can see you and shoot at you through nether blocks, but they can't detect you through glass.

    Ok guys back on topic. I only mentioned the iPhone because it actually met each of TimBud's criteria for an Apple console (popular gaming device, works great, is less powerful than a console, is more expensive than a console).

    I'll be sure to let everyone around here know when you can buy into it again. Right now there's a lot of tyre experimentation going on so it's not the best time to be playing it for fun - it's all about giving feedback to the devs (and them actually listening and responding) :) I just checked on my iRacing subscription status and it turns out I actually purchased a 2 year package (and yet I've only used it twice since). Guess I'll have to give you a race sometime. :) Loz/Pressurized will no doubt be up for it if you ask him.

    Well the physics/tyre models aren't as good obviously but you do get a lot more for your money, there's still clean racing going on there, loads of extra mod tracks at decent quality.

    Loz is pretty much the only person who plays it here. I did have a 1-year subscription but I have no idea if that's already expired and honestly I only played it twice during that time and don't plan on renewing.

    If you pause right at the end, it says "System software uses a significant amount of storage" so maybe you've only got closer to 400GB or 420GB to play with there.

    The console is already quite large, surely no-one would care if it was a tiny bit larger to accommodate an internal power unit (like your PC has, and probably also the PS3).

    ... And Then Unboxes It Again! Major Nelson has treated fans to a 3-month early unboxing video of the Xbox One - Day One Edition. I'll stop writing now since you've no doubt already clicked the Play button and stopped reading this. [embed] [/embed] All done? Great - so what did we just see here? Another massive ugly power brick? Seriously? In the flesh, the console doesn't look that terrible. Unimaginative - yes. In fact it looks like it took him a second to work out which side was the front. A decent selection of ports are included (with a large enough space around the USB port for your bulky flash drives you've got) Dual-band a/b/g/n WiFi built in. No support for the new super-fast 'ac' protocol though. A slot-loading BluRay drive New controller with 'Day One Edition' inscribed for you to show off to your friends, if friends still visit each others house these days. iR blasting (have they revealed a new media center remote control yet or will the old ones be compatible?) A 4K-supported HDMI cable. Useful. A fancy power button (that's basically the same as the newest Xbox 360 refresh, and the original PS3, besides the fact that it lights up) Kensington lock support, just in case the Xbox One suddenly becomes popular. In other news, Microsoft will require a LIVE Gold subscription for key features such as sharing game recordings, making Skype video calls, and receiving TV Guide recommendations based on your viewing habits. Sony quickly responded by saying that it will not charge users to share gaming footage. So what do you guys think? Sound off in the comments section below.
