  1. Interesting perspective on it. The Mk6s lines are definitely more... pure (yeah, it's hard to describe - stately?). It's weird how different it looks with the addition of a few creases, a redesigned bumpers, and new lights. Also, keep in mind that VW is attempting to become the largest automaker in the world, and this is a major part of their efforts. We'll have to wait to see if it works. :hmmm: -Leadfoot
  2. There will (or should) still be an M3; if anything changes in terms of major naming conventions, the M4 will (should) be an additional model. As for the chassis code, it's just the progression from E30->E36->E46->E92->F80 (instead of F30 being last). :) -Leadfoot
  3. I've heard mixed reports. The guy from whom I almost bought a 300-horsepower Legacy GT is a mechanic, and says that old BMWs are far cheaper to maintain than the turbocharged Subaru (and his Subaru wasn't a lemon, either - it was the best LGT I've ever seen). Owners, too, seem to say it's nothing crazy. My local mechanic and BMW club president, however, says the opposite. So we'll see. -Leadfoot
  4. How'd you get that one? Commercial stunt pilotry? :cheeky: Nice light trails and lit vehicles. :hmmm: Neat! -Leadfoot
  5. Currently looking for one of these (although the ones I'm looking that aren't this nice looking): Or, alternatively, one of these: But in the meantime, I'm trying to find beige leather buckets from an RSX to put in the Civic. :) -Leadfoot
  6. If you can tell the track from a single on-track pic, I think you'll enjoy the video. ;) -Leadfoot
  7. More pics from yesterday: ^Aston. ^Original Morgan Trike. There were two here, along with one of the new ones. -Leadfoot
  8. Thanks. :) A couple, yeah. But more importantly, I have video and sound. :D You'll have to wait for the pics/video, though. Personally, the E9 is one of my favorite cars of all time, and I'm happy to report that in practice, it demolished the competition (E-Types, Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs). :) -Leadfoot
  9. Quick teaser from today. It was awesome, but I'm exhausted. Video coming in due time. The video will be loud. ;) -Leadfoot
  10. Very nice, especially the colorization. -Leadfoot
  11. Nicely done. Have I missed something you've done to it? A chip, maybe? -Leadfoot
  12. How is night racing? Is it one of those where they added a blue tint, or is it real, all-you-see-is-a-quarter-of-the-screen night lighting? Nice shots. :) -Leadfoot
  13. Looks like I forgot to post the hillclimb one here. It was posted on Jalopnik, though, so maybe I was caught up in the rush of that. :D Anyway, here's that: And here's the final Hemmings show video: If everything goes according to plan, a really big one might be coming next week. :) -Leadfoot
  14. Nice shots! Haha, those were the days. Until he's finished an essay for school while filming and driving with his chin, I think my reputation is safe. :p -Leadfoot
  15. *Cough* E36 *Cough* I can understand your confusion, though - you probably don't see such a cheap car that often. :cheeky: -Leadfoot
  16. Well, my parents have okay'd my decision to pursue E28s and E24s, so hopefully a large, old, manual 5er/6er will show up within a reasonable distance soon. :) For now, I'm just enjoying the Civic's new header. :cheeky: Stick shift - good man. :) A kid at my school drives a GT-R, but he's pretty boring and, as far as we all know, can't drive manual. It's nice to see a kid who knows how to drive manual by choice. -Leadfoot
  17. In the event something like this passes, there will probably be a huge buyout of ECU chips prior to it going into effect. Anything undetectable visually will occur; in the US, catless vehicles are banned, but I personally know a plenty of people who run catless, and plenty of shops that certify them. It does matter - that's the whole issue. There's a reason the types of modifications in question are called "aftermarket" parts; you buy them post-purchase, after the market. If Mercedes sells an AMG car to its first owner, that car is stock. In other words, it is as it came from the factory. Once the owner chips it, gets bigger wheels, lowers it, etc., then it becomes after market. Shelby's the same deal in America. You can walk into a Ford dealer and ask for a 650 horsepower, 200-mph GT500, and Ford will sell it to you with a warranty, even though it's build differently than the normal Mustang. Here's the kicker, though: the reason they don't count as modified cars is because they have to pass the same crash tests, the same emissions tests, and the same miscellaneous certifications as any other model in the range (or, at the very least, they are deemed similar enough by the government to have lesser models satisfy that requirement). Yes, they are modified, but so is a Civic hybrid. What they aren't is aftermarket. -Leadfoot
  18. If it does, bagged suspension is about to get a lot more popular. ;) If you catch my drift. -Leadfoot
  19. Pretty nice! All I'll say is that the background in the later shots looks kind of dull. The first ones, with all the lush vegetation, seem to have a little more life thanks to the greenery. :) -Leadfoot
  20. Via: Shmee's website It seems there was a huge accident recently in Watford (I'm not from the UK, so not sure where that is) involving a Zonda. Is this one that you guys have seen? Shmee has some info, but the notable part is that the driver was killed and the passenger uninjured. Is this one of the Zondas that anyone's spotted over there? Black with tricolore stripes. Shame about the driver. :( -Leadfoot
