  1. Latest Real Drivers video: Probably controversial to many, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. :hmmm: Also, a lot more driving, sounds, and flybys in this one! :) -Leadfoot
  2. He did the alignment himself and forgot to check the position of the wheel beforehand. :p It drives straight, but the angle is pretty clear. I drive one (albeit newer than the one in the video). Steering, responsiveness, and engine liveliness make it far more rewarding to drive than any other vehicle I've driven - Saabs, Subarus, even my buddy's old BMW E36. Mine leans over more than the E36, but the steering feel is much nicer. :) Then again, I knew from the beginning that this video would get this kind of reaction. He does say that bit at the end, though, so thank you for watching the whole thing. ;) -Leadfoot
  3. Yes. I'm claiming it means to be stricken with controversy. :cheeky: Although I suppose "controverted" would be the correct term. :hmmm: -Leadfoot
  4. ^Saw that earlier on Jalopnik. Pretty cool. Was surprised they choose an American song rather than any number of the Jack White-style British alternative bands, but that's not a complaint, it's an observation. ;) ------------------------------ Prepare to be, um, controversed. -Leadfoot
  5. The officials try to discourage the average Joe vaulting over the fence onto an active race course with little to no knowledge on vehicle crashes to try to help. Plus, if one person does it, many more would inevitably decide they also need to run in and end up blocking the actual aid personnel and race organizers. -Leadfoot
  6. ^That thing is still awesome, although it would probably be sickening. :p --------------------------------- Latest car show vid. Ordinarily I wouldn't post this, but I was surprised by how it turned out. -Leadfoot
  7. A genuine spotted from me, for once. I was on my way to a car show and this was right across from me. It's worth mentioning that I did not take the picture from a moving car - this light is well-known in Southern VT as the longest/worst light around. Only one direction goes at a time, and the green lasts about four seconds. (Literally. I've timed it.) After thinking about it, I believe this is a local dealer car, a dealer owned by the family of a girl at my school. :hmmm: Thinking, thinking... -Leadfoot
  8. I can't wait to see this in Vermont winters. There are a couple around here, and there are a few people who leave their wipers aimed straight up before a snowstorm. And on top of that, just about everyone lifts them up to clear out ice and then puts them back down again (before starting the car, so that's your five-minute window gone). Good to know, though - thanks. -Leadfoot
  9. ^Lol. ----------------- I open with trees, sometimes. ;) -Leadfoot
  10. That's no normal STI - that's an STI S204! Or, at least, it has the S204 spoiler. :hmmm: -Leadfoot
  11. Love all those Porsches. -Leadfoot
  12. They're too eighties to compare to vehicles from any other generation, but I still kind of like these cars. Nice addition to the virtual stable! :) -Leadfoot
  13. Looks like fun - even in non-premium cars. :cheeky: Does TDUC still do organized GT5 races from time to time? I might be interested in joining you guys. :hmmm: -Leadfoot
  14. There's this beautiful lowered C5 RS6 that's been driving around town the past few days - loud exhaust, HRE wheels. It's from Connecticut, of course, but it's still really nice. :fp:  -Leadfoot
  15. An update for my next Real Drivers video! The whole issue of 60fps on YouTube is still bugging me (it converts it to 30, and as a result gets choppy), so the next ones will be 1080p at 30fps. :fp: Oh, well. That's what I shoot my clients' stuff in, anyway. -Leadfoot
  16. Not exactly random, but it's my latest Real Drivers video. And I've given up trying to get 60fps to work with YouTube. The next video will most likely be 1080p at 30fps. :fp: Yes. It shouldn't really qualify as a world record, because it's just the same thing (which is not new, as you mentioned) twice. It would be like saying "We've done the world's first loop-the-loop with a 101 foot run off!" and following it by being the first to use a 102 foot run off, then a 103 foot. Not exactly progress. :( I miss when TG was genuine instead of manufactured explosions and intentional failure. -Leadfoot
  17. ^I like it (the car and the pics)! Are those XXR 530s? -Leadfoot
  18. Fine, how about "It needs little more than a quick respray on the front clip?" :cheeky: -Leadfoot
  19. Just test drove a 270-wheel horsepower Subaru Legacy. 21 pounds of boost, and a basically unmuffled exhaust. Hopefully a number of things come together over the next week... It's awesome. The incredible thing was the driveability. It's a very powerful car, and when you step on it, it really gets going (like "40 to 70 in under two seconds" going) but driving normally, it's just like my parents' Legacies. A tad noisier, of course, but very refined. It's also on coilovers, and although the ride is stiffer, it's not uncomfortable in normal situations. It needs nothing, but if everything comes together, I would probably get larger wheels (it has these brilliant 18-inch BBS reps now, but he's keeping those), paint the front clip, and try to source a stock shifter assembly (not a fan of the short-throw). But like it said, it really needs nothing. :) -Leadfoot
  20. What are your guys opinions on the playback with this? I tried a new render strategy. -Leadfoot
  21. Pictures from last weekend! ^Wicker interior, anyone? Desktop-res here. -Leadfoot
  22. Car show came to town. Mercedes Gullwing, several 3.0CSis, a beautiful M635CSi. Oh, and an SLS Roadster, Boss 429 Mustang, BEAUTIFUL Ford Galaxy, Fiat 850 beachmobile thing (lolwut?) a Lancia Fulvia (never sold here), Sunbeam Tiger, and lots of other beautiful stuff. Over 400 cars attended. I'll try to upload some of the pictures and video later, plus a Real Drivers vid; I've been - and continue to be - so busy. Oh, and I talked to a guy about a car he's selling. A very loud and modified car. A car I might have by the end of the week. ;) -Leadfoot
  23. Clever, although the fact that there's only one will skew the results slightly. A more accurate measurement of peoples' financial sanity would be to make several chisels, ranging incrementally from 75,000 to 100,000, price each one more expensive than the last, and see how many are swiped up. As it is, some Arab prince is probably going to buy the diamond chisel with the pocket change left over from his matte-pink Bugatti. :cheeky: Unlikely. 500,000 people paying $10 is greater than a handful paying $50 grand. *Adjusts pocket protector.* :cheeky: (Although, seeing how EA has already made it cost upwards of $100 to access everything in a game, I see your point.) -Leadfoot
  24. We should just go with "s**n" and be happy when it arrives. :cheeky: -Leadfoot
