  1. Hey all. Got your PM, Ry! Bike wise, I'd full heartedly recommend an Inline 4 Japanese bike. I've recently switched from a 600cc IL4 to an 800cc V4 VTEC and while the extra power and double torque figures are lovely, I'm struggling to get 35mpg. My 600cc IL4 did 50+ mpg and that was with me overtaking people and making fire on the overrun. Out of the bikes you've looked at, I would most definitely go with the Yamaha Fazer. They're cheap to run and insure and they're quite basic mechanically so labour costs should be lower than a sports bike. The fairing helps with weather protection as well as aesthetics. It also helps massively with motorway riding, significantly less drag. On the lower end of the scales, Kawasaki have the 250 Ninja which will do around 70mpg and has a top speed of around 110mph. Fully faired, but it's a thorough sports bike, so insurance costs will be a little higher than wanted. The best compromise of a fast/economical/cheap bike would possibly be a 2005 Yamaha Fazer / 2005 Honda CBR600F. Plenty of power, Sounds like a sewing machine on stock exhausts (Which your neighbours will like, trust me!) but can still out perform almost any <£100,000 car in a drag race. If at any point in the future you want to have a faster bike, then my Honda VFR800 VTEC has a 0-60mph of 3.3 seconds and I'm yet to find top speed, but I've seen 150mph from it on a clear motorway home. Plenty more to give anyway so I'd probably say it'll do around 165-170 given a clear straight piece of road. Fazers / other similar bikes would have a 0-60 of around 4-5 seconds given a proper launch. But if performance figures don't matter, then I'd say a good BMW 750GS might suit you better. Tonnes of power if necessary, but coupled with monsterously cheap insurance and 60+MPG, then it's a good buy. If a sports tourer is more your cup of tea then almost any 2003+ Japanese 600cc would be more than enough. My top 5 600cc Japs 1) Yamaha R6 (2005 saw the start of the good Fuel Injection mapping, the previous ones were a bit hit and miss) 2) Honda CBR600F (all round great bike with decent equipment and a nice dashboard to keep things interesting) 3) Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat (Carburetted, but once it's all been serviced and working well, it's probably the most exciting bike I've ever ridden) 4) Suzuki GSX650F (Basic bike, but surprisingly nimble for it's size. 50+Mpg and cheapish service costs) 5) Suzuki SV650s (V-Twin so slightly hard to ride to begin with, but the massive torque figures and instant power make it a very fun to ride bike) Good luck!
  2. Yeah, so it seems the new 2TB hard drive I got has died already... Fun. Taking it into work tomorrow to verify that it is actually dead, and then a RMA shall be ordered :( Not happy
  3. For £60, definitely can't complain. The Coolermaster HAF XB I'm still waiting for cost me £63
  4. Used them in work a lot. Decent cases. Not too big, not too small. Only downsides I can remember is that the Optical drive can foul the connections for the top board (Power, USBs, etc) And they're a tad nosiy.
  5. I suck like a Dyson. Very efficiently and in a cyclone fashion. My suction capabilities are sublime :) :leaves:
  6. The delay when pressing the throttle/brake or steering is about a half a second. That's really noticable and very frustrating at times.
  7. Just bought two things to revamp some life into the Desktop. Manufacturer's pics unfortunately as they haven't arrived yet (Only ordered them a few minutes ago!) Coolermaster HAF XB Case: Seagate Barracuda 2TB SATA III 7,200RPM HDD: Pics are uninspiring. It's a Hard Drive. Woop!
  8. Belated thanks to all! Been working my behind off trying to save money so I can build myself an even more awesome Desktop. Decided I at least want a new case! The DF-85 is too annoying and noisy.
  9. For those who didn't get the reference, my epic lady made me some Chocolate Star Wars characters. I got Darth Vader and R2D2 :D
  10. Thank you all. You may have noticed my small return a few days ago, Mesa back! But not tonight. Tonight is a night filled with Whisky and other forms of alcoholic beverages!
  11. After sampling the demo, I'm pleased to say I've purchased the alpha and will be religiously testing it! There's another game called SpinTyres that's currently in development, but it's taking SOOO long to give any updates.
  12. Thanks :) I'll do what I can to be more active! Thank you Sir. I bought this bike to calm me down a little. With the sports bike (Yellow and silver one) You had to be going around 85-90mph to even crack a smile. With the new bike you can have fun anywhere from 20mph upwards just because the power and torque is present from 3,000rpm right up to 12,500rpm. Get it to 7k and then you get the VTEC kicking in. Yes. :D Mrs Sponge is doing very well, currently trying to wake up as I type this! Sponge-ickles will be on the way soon :) As soon as we get the house and ensure our financial situation is sound, then watch this space! Oh, I also take back what I said about me being all good. Had to go to the hospital yesterday :( Turns out I have contracted chicken pox... So that's a week off work while I work my way back from looking like an ogre to looking awesome.
  13. 2002 Honda VFR 800 VTEC. The sports bike I had was causing me to speed everywhere and was generally dangerous as you'd have to go silly speeds to get any enjoyment out of it. This bike has masses of torque throughout the rev range so I can 'play' at virtually any speed. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g226/metal_man_409e/th_20130704_124129_zps3be14fca.jpg The Black one is the new one.
  14. Hey guys. I'm all good :) Been busy with life really, I'll be buying a house with the other half within the next few months and I've taken delivery of a new bike. Not a lot has happened in the time I've been gone really... Just been casually racing/drifting on LFS and maybe the occasional game of Crysis. But the majority of my time has been spent working and raising a pup who's now 7 months old. Other than pup raising and working, I've been modifying the new bike to how I want it. Coming along quite nicely. Hope you're all still as insane as I remember.
  15. Welcome to the S3 club, Ryzza! Still loving mine since August :) My latest purchase (for myself) is a set of Mirrors for the big bike, but I haven't put them on yet (No point, seeing as it's away for the winter)

If it's a carbed engine, just spray a bit of easy start in the carbs and top her up. You'll be reet :) If there's crap in the tank, just siphon it off?
  17. Just downloaded the latest build (351) from an upgrade of 285, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE AI?!! They're reminiscent of 6 year olds on Forza online. Crashing into the back of me, the side of me, spinning me out and then another one hitting me head on?! On the "ahem" upside of the new builds, the new cars and GUIs are awesome.
  18. Results: Of the 32 questions answered, 31 were correct and 1 incorrect. You passed the practice Learner Permit Test with a score of 97% :D I wanna move to Melbourne!
  19. Got caught out by the dodgy AI, head on collision resulting in around £40k of damage :( Overdraft came into effect :(
  20. I went for all the ADR and the High Value cargo. I think I'll do the fragile ones next, but I do have a habit of 'drifting' my truck around places, so I may need to calm down with the fragile loads.
  21. I have to say that I'm absolutely loving ETS2! I think I made a mistake buying a 3 berth garage and a driver so early on as he's only making me around 60p per mile... But I have noticed his driver level seems to be increasing, (so does his profit per mile) He originally started out as losing me about a £1 per mile but he's booked his ideas up now. I just have to do the ADR class jobs as often as I can to rake in the money to pay off my £500k loan :\ Making do with just over £100k in the bank. If it gets any lower than that, things might need to change. But so far, definitely worth the £14.99 I paid for it!
